Gardena Smart System now with Google Home support
Start the robotic mower or the irrigation system simply by voice command from the couch? With Gardena, this is now also possible via Google Assistant. Finally, the expert for your garden technology with its smart product portfolio now also wants to support Google Home.
Gardena now cooperates with Google Home
Anyone who owns one or more products from the Gardena Smart System could control them via a suitable app until now. For example, watering schedules could be created or the robotic mower could be started and stopped at the touch of a button on the smartphone. Voice control, on the other hand, was not possible until now. Now the manufacturer of a wide range of gardening equipment has announced that it now also supports Google Home. This not only enables easier operation via the matching Google Home app. On top of that, the devices can now also be conveniently operated by voice control. Who owns a suitable receiver such as the Google Nest Mini (from 23.80 euros), does not even have to have his smartphone at hand. Strictly speaking, however, voice control at Gardena is not really new.
Rather, the manufacturer now completes its available voice assistants with Google Home. Until now, you could control the devices namely already with the help of Amazon Alexa and Apple Home. Now the “Big Three” in the field of voice control are consequently all available at Gardena. According to Gardena itself, Google Home support now includes all robotic mowers, the smart Water Control irrigation control, the smart Irrigation Control, the smart adapter and the smart sensor. It is up to you whether you want to interact by voice via Google Assistant or via the Google Home app. Only for the initial setup of the smart devices from Gardena you should still have to use the original app of the garden expert.
