Garmin Vivoactive 6: New sports watch with smart alarm clock

Garmin has introduced the Garmin Vivoactive 6, a sports watch with new functions and improvements. The design remains true to the previous model, but offers subtle adjustments and enhanced features for sports enthusiasts and technology lovers.

The most important features in brief

  • Design and display: 42.2 mm case diameter, 1.2 inch AMOLED touchscreen.
  • Memory: 8 GB for music and apps.
  • New functions: Smart alarm clock, daily training recommendations for walking.
  • Sports apps: Over 80 pre-installed activities.

More memory and extended connectivity

At first glance, the latest model bears a clear resemblance to the Garmin Vivoactive 5 (€ 236.82 *). The Garmin Vivoactive 6 retains the case diameter of 42.2 mm, but with a height of 10.9 mm it is 0.2 millimeters slimmer than its predecessor. The redesigned, now round button on the right-hand side, which is mainly used to start activities, is striking.

The 1.2-inch AMOLED touch display with a resolution of 390 x 390 pixels ensures a clear and vivid display. A major upgrade is the doubled memory of 8 GB, which offers more space for music and apps. Users can download songs and playlists from services such as Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer and listen to them without a smartphone. Garmin Pay also enables contactless payment directly via the watch.

Extensive sports and fitness functions

The Vivoactive 6 offers over 80 pre-installed sports apps, including walking, running, cycling and swimming. New features include daily training recommendations specifically for walking to help users achieve their fitness goals.

In addition, guided workouts for strength training, HIIT, yoga, Pilates and more can be downloaded via Garmin Connect. Familiar functions such as Body Battery, step counting, calorie consumption and stress analysis are also integrated.

Intelligent alarm clock for a gentle wake-up

A highlight of the Vivoactive 6 is the intelligent alarm clock. This function analyzes the wearer’s sleep cycle and wakes them up in a light sleep phase within a predefined time window to make waking up more pleasant. This type of alarm function is integrated into a Garmin watch for the first time.

Price and availability

The Garmin Vivoactive 6 will be available to order from April 4, 2025 for around 330 euros. You can find out more about the latest model on the official website. With its advanced features and sleek design, it is aimed at technology enthusiasts and athletes looking for a versatile and intelligent sports watch. If you can do without the new features, it is definitely worth taking a look at the Garmin Vivoactive 5 (€ 236.82 *) – the equally excellent predecessor.
