The all-electric Genesis Electrified GV70 SUV is the brand’s third model to go on sale in Germany with immediate effect. Deliveries of the first pre-ordered e-SUVs are scheduled to begin before the end of October 2022.
Genesis Electrified GV70 in detail
Following the all-electric GV60 and the GV80, the Genesis Electrified GV70 is the third electric model to be launched in Germany by the Korean premium car brand, which is part of the Hyundai Group. In terms of price, the latest model is also positioned in the middle between its brand siblings. The first pre-orders are to be delivered to customers in the course of October.
It marks the electric version of the GV70 launched in 2021 and aims to combine luxury, performance and versatility. For the engine, the Electrified GV70 relies on advanced all-wheel drive.
Both axles are powered by one electric motor each, rated at 360 kW and 490 hp respectively, while the 77.4-kWh battery is said to provide a range of 455 kilometers according to WLTP. The e-SUV can also be charged quickly thanks to the 800-volt architecture: In 18 minutes, the battery can be charged from ten to 80 percent at a 350-kW fast charger.
“With the third all-electric model we are launching this year, we are also underlining our goal of becoming a completely zero-emission brand by 2030,” reveals Lawrence Hamilton, Managing Director of Genesis Motor Europe.
On the steering wheel, for example, you’ll have a boost mode button that, at the touch of a button, will call up maximum power for 10 seconds. This allows acceleration from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds and is primarily intended for overtaking.
Modern technology, many options
The Genesis Electrified GV70 is equipped with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen. It is also said to offer state-of-the-art driver assistance systems, but the manufacturer does not go into detail about them.
In addition, the E-SUV is particularly customizable. There are 15 different exterior colors and four finish variants (solid, metallic, pearl effect and matte) to choose from. A new addition to the portfolio is Barossa Burgundy with a matte finish, a new exterior color especially for the brand’s electrified models.
There is also a choice of color options for the interior, including three each for the standard leather trim and three for the Nappa leather version. Offered exclusively in Sport trim, the E-GV70 can be personalized down to the last detail via the Genesis online configurator.
Favorable charging on the IONITY network
Owners of the Electrified GV70 can also take advantage of the “Genesis Charging” program with over 300,000 charging stations in Europe for convenient and stress-free charging. The user-friendly service requires only a smartphone app and charging card.
Part of Genesis Charging is a free five-year IONITY subscription that offers discounted rates for charging at the 350 kW ultra-fast charging stations in the IONITY network. Currently, subscribers in Germany are charged 25 cents per kWh.
Billing for charging at home and at public charging stations is conveniently handled via a single account. Customers also benefit from a 24-hour emergency service.
