Gigabyte AORUS Gen4 5000E SSD: High performance, low consumption

With the Gigabyte AORUS Gen4 5000E SSD, the manufacturer has introduced a new PCIe 4.0 SSD with high performance, low consumption and particularly long durability.

The Gigabyte AORUS Gen4 5000E SSD in detail

After the racingly fast Gigabyte AORUS Gen5 10000 SSD with PCIe-5 connectivity in August, the manufacturer has now introduced a new PCIe 4.0 SSD. The Gigabyte AORUS Gen4 5000E SSD comes with capacities of 500 GB and one terabyte and offers read speeds of up to 5000 MB/s.

Besides the high speed, the new M.2 SSD model is also characterized by a 30 percent lower power consumption. At the same time, the AORUS Gen4 5000E has undergone numerous performance and stability tests to ensure that performance is maintained even under load.

The AORUS Gen4 5000E SSD is available in two storage capacities: 1000 GB and 500 GB. Featuring PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe 1.4, 2280 M.2 design and 3D TLC NAND Flash, it offers transfer speeds of up to 1600 MT/s and 5,000 MB/s read or 4,600 MB/s write.

1.5 million hours MTBF (Mean time between failure) and a power consumption of 20 mW in idle mode are on the books for the SSD.

The cooperation with the Thermal Guard technology of the motherboards from Gigabyte will be particularly interesting, because in combination with the new SSD, the duo realizes the highest possible speeds with a convincing cooling.

In addition, TRIM & S.M.A.R.T technology ensures improved stability and longevity, while HMB (Host Memory Buffer) allows the system memory to work optimally with SSDs to increase overall performance.

Prices and Availability

The Gigabyte AORUS Gen4 5000E SSD in 500 GB and 1 TB sizes is expected to make its way to retailers soon. The manufacturer has not revealed pricing details yet, but the official product website at least provides some additional information.
