Gigaset becomes a partner in Home Connect Plus

Gigaset announces a partnership with Home Connect Plus. This means that Gigaset’s own products can now be combined with all the platform’s renowned smart home solutions, including Philips Hue, AVM products and the Nanoleaf light panels, for example.

Gigaset now integrated in Home Connect Plus

With Home Connect Plus, there has now been an app for a year and a half that makes it possible to combine different smart home devices and complete systems from different manufacturers and control them centrally. With the aim of creating the most diverse smart home devices and solutions through maximum compatibility for customers enormous combination and application possibilities.

Smart home products such as the AVM FRITZ!DECT 200 socket (our review) or the Nanoleaf Lines light panels (our review) already use the platform. So now Gigaset products with various security, convenience and energy solutions are being added. Gigaset customers can thus expand their existing solution with the offerings of other manufacturers.

Gigaset and Home Connect Plus

The Home Connect Plus app makes smart devices even smarter: Gigaset smart home products can now be connected to smart home devices and systems from other manufacturers, making the home even smarter.

“Gigaset offers a very extensive portfolio. The most important product areas are security, energy management and comfort,” says Franka Abraham, Senior Product Manager at Gigaset. These include, for example, the Motion Sensor ONE X, the Camera 2.0, the Siren ONE X alarm siren, the Gigaset Plug ONE X smart sockets and many other products.

The Home Connect Plus app centrally controls interactions between different smart home systems. Likewise, device functions can be controlled and routine tasks automated. The app is free and compatible with both Android and iOS.

Gigaset sees the expanded capabilities of the Home Connect Plus app as a major benefit for its customers. As a result, Gigaset is now also part of the network of well-known partners such as Philips Hue, Bosch, Sonos, Tado and Homematic IP.

Routines can be created and IFA 2022

Since devices from different manufacturers can be combined with the app, routines can be created – even if a manufacturer does not offer a certain smart home solution.

For example, you can specify that the smart door lock is locked, the lights are switched off, the smart thermostats on the radiators regulate the temperature to 18° C and the smart vacuum robot starts its work as soon as you leave the house.

“In the future, smart home will be more than just a technical gimmick. With Home Connect Plus, we want to make smart networking and orchestration of devices part of the reality of life today,” says Lauri Pesonen, CEO of Residential IoT Services GmbH, the company behind Home Connect Plus.

You can also experience the possibilities of Home Connect Plus at IFA 2022. From September 2 to 6 at booth 106 in hall 1.1. Gigaset’s integration into the partner system will also be presented there.
