Gigaset GX6 Pro: Business smartphone with a robust design

Gigaset has announced a new smartphone. The Gigaset GX6 Pro is supposed to be aimed at business users. According to the German manufacturer, it features the virtues of the already available GX6. This includes, above all, a robust design, which is expressed, among other things, in an IP68 certification and the fulfillment of the military standard MIL-STD-810H.

Gigaset GX6 Pro: Business meets robustness

The manufacturer proved that Gigaset can build really chic and also robust smartphones with its GX6 (test). It was not without reason that it won our coveted Gold Award. Now the German company has apparently thought that many companies might be looking for just this robustness for their employees. And the manufacturer has experience in this. According to Gigaset, it already supplies Deutsche Bahn employees with its GS series devices. The Gigaset GX6 Pro wants to go one step further. Among other things, the manufacturer emphasizes the uncomplicated device management.

Here, features such as Zero Touch and compatibility with Team Viewer are intended to ensure uncomplicated work for IT admins. It is not only the robust design that promises longevity. On top of that, the smartphone is supposed to be provided with security updates for up to five years from market launch. In terms of software, support for Android 14 is guaranteed. A 5,000 mAh removable battery ensures that the smartphone can last for long workdays. According to Gigaset, the battery can be recharged quickly once it is empty.

A charge from 0 to 90 percent is said to be possible within 60 minutes with up to 30 watts of charging power. Wireless charging via a Qi charging surface happens again with 15 watts. Thanks to BatteryLife+ Technology, the battery is charged as gently as possible to get the maximum lifespan out of it. The protection according to military standard MIL-STD-810H is supposed to provide protection against heat, cold and shocks, while IP68 ensures protection against water and dust. Speaking of the casing. According to Gigaset, this can also be customized for a company order. A company logo is conceivable here, for example.

Gigaset GX6 Pro comes with solid hardware

Good technology is at work under the hood. The heart is the MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G – a 2.4 GHz octa-core processor. The 6.6-inch display has a FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Thanks to the maximum brightness of 550 nits, you should be able to see everything well on the screen protected with Corning Gorilla Glass even in bright surroundings.

While a 50 MP camera with image stabilizer works on the back, the selfie camera is hidden behind a punch hole on the front. The equipment is rounded off with Bluetooth 5.2, USB 3.0, WiFi 6, 5G and NFC. Here we have the entire Gigaset spec sheet for you.

Gigaset GX4 Pro as little sibling

The Gigaset GX4 Pro introduced in early December 2022 is, in a way, the little brother of the GX6 Pro.

Although features like 5G are missing here, it offers some significant improvements compared to the standard version of the GX4. These undoubtedly include double the device memory and RAM expandable up to 6 GB.

Prices and availability

As an average consumer, you won’t get a Gigaset GX6 Pro or a GX4 Pro. After all, these are aimed squarely at businesses. Instead, Gigaset is selling its two rugged business phones through a “network of qualified partners – including IT and telecommunications providers and value-added resellers and enterprise systems vendors.” Starting in February 2023, it should be possible to buy the Gigaset GX6 Pro in the colors Titanium Black and Titanium Grey this way. The GX4 Pro is also scheduled to launch in Q1 2023. You can find more information on the official Gigaset website.
