Fitbit AI Health Coach: Personal training and sleep coach on the iPhone

With the Fitbit AI Health Coach, Google is bringing its AI-supported fitness and health advisor to iOS devices for the first time. At the beginning, users have a short conversation lasting five to ten minutes to define personal goals and motivation. The coach then provides tailored recommendations that are displayed throughout the day – in the morning to start the day, after workouts to optimize training and in the evening for better sleep.

The software draws on data from Fitbit trackers and supported devices such as the Pixel Watch 3 and 4, analyzes heart rate, blood oxygen and temperature and recognizes patterns in sleep. An integrated chatbot answers health questions, helps with training adjustments and provides advice on recovery. The digital coach therefore not only replaces traditional fitness apps, but also acts as a personal companion for holistic health.

The iOS version is initially available in English and covers countries such as the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. Google is not yet talking about global availability, but it is likely that the app will be rolled out in other markets in the future.

Price, subscription and supported devices

The Fitbit AI Health Coach is exclusively available to Fitbit Premium subscribers, with a subscription costing €8.99 per month. A range of current Fitbit trackers such as Charge 6, Inspire 3, Versa 4 and Sense 2 are compatible. The Pixel Watch 3 and 4 are also supported. By connecting the devices to the iPhone, iOS users can now benefit from the same personalized recommendations as Android users – including real-time feedback on training, sleep and vital signs.

More Information

Google is clearly positioning the Fitbit AI Health Coach as an advanced AI solution for fitness and health coaching that can be used across platforms. This is a remarkable step for iPhone users, as Apple has been more cautious in implementing comparable AI-supported coaching functions.

Conclusion

With the Fitbit AI Health Coach on the iPhone, users can for the first time experience personalized training plans, sleep analysis and vital signs tracking via Fitbit Premium. The app is initially available in English and as a preview and supports devices such as Charge 6, Versa 4, Sense 2 and Pixel Watch 3 and 4. The subscription costs €8.99 per month, with global availability likely to be expanded in the future.
