ust before the expected launch of the Google Pixel 9a in mid-March 2025, official images and technical details of the new budget smartphone have been leaked. Roland Quandt from WinFuture shares the details of the new device. The Pixel 9a adopts design elements from the more expensive Pixel 9 series while offering an attractive price-performance ratio.

Design and display
The Pixel 9a has a metal frame made of anodized aluminium and a matt plastic back. The front and back have a flat design, with the camera module standing out discreetly. The 6.3-inch OLED display offers a Full HD resolution of 2,404 x 1,080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, which ensures a smooth display. However, the display edges are comparatively wide. In return, there is a maximum brightness of up to 1,800 nits or 2,800 nits outdoors.
Performance and memory
The Google Tensor G4 processor works inside, supported by 8 GB RAM. Depending on requirements, 128 GB or 256 GB of internal memory is available. This combination promises solid performance for everyday applications and multitasking.
Camera
The dual camera system on the back consists of a 48-megapixel main camera and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. This setup enables versatile photography options, from detailed shots to wide landscape images.
Battery and charging
With a capacity of 5100 mAh, the battery of the Pixel 9a offers a considerable battery life. The device supports 23 watt fast charging via cable and 7.5 watt wireless charging. Compared to the previous model, the battery capacity has been increased by 13%.
Price and availability
Prices for the Pixel 9a start at 499 euros for the 128 GB version. The 256 GB version costs 599 euros. Pre-orders are expected to be possible from March 19, 2025. The smartphone will be available in the colors Obsidian, Porcelain, Peony and Iris.
