Govee is expanding its lineup of smart LED light strips: The Govee Strip Light 2, the successor to the classic Govee RGBIC LED Strip Light, is now available. The new light strip features Matter support and is available at a discount for its market launch.
Govee Strip Light 2: Features and Technology
The Strip Light 2 utilizes LuminBlend+ color technology and RGBWWIX 5-in-1 LEDs, which are designed to deliver vibrant colors and segmented control with smooth transitions. In addition to 16 million colors, adjustable white tones ranging from warm to cool are also available.
Over 100 preset scenes and an AI-powered Lighting Bot also enable custom lighting effects. Compared to its predecessor, Govee has added an extra protective layer to the light strip and improved color rendering. The biggest new feature, however, is the newly added Matter support.

This allows the Lightstrip to be integrated even more broadly into the smart home, in addition to Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This is made possible by the inclusion of not only Bluetooth but also Wi-Fi. If you’re interested in the Matter standard and its benefits in detail, you can find more information in our article on Matter 1.5.
The Strip Light 2 is positioned below the already available Strip Light 2 Pro, which we used, among other things, in our real-world test of smart Govee lighting.
