Graphics card problem in the beta of New World – manufacturer EVGA exchanges

According to the latest information from the manufacturer EVGA, the graphics cards that show problems with the beta version of New World will be replaced.

Amazon has now received information in the meantime from the manufacturer EVGA, which specializes in the distribution of computer hardware. Here there were or are graphics card problems with the beta version of New World. After inquiring with the manufacturer, they have thought about how to proceed with the problem. The company wants to replace the faulty graphics cards as soon as possible. If the defect is confirmed, EVGA already sends out new cards, even if the defective graphics card hasn’t arrived at the manufacturer yet. This way, the downtime is kept as low as possible. EVGA thus demonstrates a very accommodating approach towards its customers. How it comes to the failures of the graphics cards is still unclear and is still being clarified.

Cause research no longer possible

In the meantime, a patch for New World has now also been released, which should no longer have any problems, so can be played again without any problems. With the current patch of New World is now the FPS in the menu of the online game limited. However, EVGA is now no longer able to do cause research, since the error can no longer be readjusted. Here, the manufacturer wants to analyze the RMA returns in more detail to subsequently determine how the failures occurred.

Reports from customers about the failures are currently still in the single-digit range. It is not yet possible to say exactly how many cards are affected by this problem, since some reports were sent directly to the retailers. This means that those affected may still have asserted existing warranty claims. The number of affected graphics cards will thus still have to be determined.

Problems continue

Apparently, not only the graphics cards of the manufacturer EVGA were affected by the problem, according to reports, gamers with Gigabyte cards have also been affected by failures. Exact information about this is unfortunately not yet known. There have been reports about the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090, GeForce RTX 3080 and the high-end models from AMD so far.

It is still unclear why the emergency shutdown was not activated in the corresponding graphics cards. This would also indicate the fan control IC. We are currently waiting for more information from the manufacturer.
