Gyroor X3: E-scooter in foldable design with fat tires launches on Indiegogo

With the Gyroor X3, an interesting new e-scooter in foldable design is launching on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo. The model relies on particularly thick fat tires to enable a high level of riding comfort. The battery can be removed, while the 700-watt motor in the form is not approved for use in Germany.

The Gyroor X3 e-scooter in detail

According to the manufacturer, the Gyroor X3 e-scooter should be “the ideal choice for rough terrain and short-distance travel”. The reason for this is, among other things, the 12-inch tires in fat design, which can also repair and seal minor damage (up to a maximum of 3 mm) such as nails or cracks themselves thanks to an included liquid.

The e-scooter’s motor has a power output of up to 700 watts and brings it to a top speed of 21 mph, or around 35 km/h. Acceleration from a standstill to maximum speed takes just four seconds.

At the same time, the X3 is said to easily handle inclines of up to 20 degrees and has three speed modes that call up a maximum of 15 km/h in first gear, up to 25 km/h in second gear and the maximum top speed in third gear.

Foldable design, removable battery

In addition, the Gyroor X3 relies on a foldable design that, similar to the just recently introduced IO Hawk Sparrow 2, allows for space-saving transport with just the push of a button and the flip of a lever.

Folding and unfolding is said to take just 10 seconds, while the e-scooter itself is easy to carry around thanks to a weight of around 25 kg.

The battery can be found in the base of the e-scooter and can even be removed for charging. It has a capacity of 555 Wh and is said to allow a comparatively manageable range of 31 miles or around 50 kilometers. It can be fully charged in about five steps and is supposed to offer 10 safety functions that make it particularly safe and durable. It can even be charged conveniently via USB Type-C, even on the go.

Otherwise, the X3 is designed for a maximum weight of 120 kg and has particularly large brakes in the form of a disc brake at the rear wheel and a drum brake at the front. At the front, a hydraulic spring is also supposed to ensure a high level of ride comfort in rough terrain.

Also offered is an IPX4 certification, as well as a large LED display in the handlebars, which displays important information such as speed, battery status and much more. The lighting is approved for German StVZO, with the front light offering a range of 10 meters.

The Gyroor X3 can be operated, locked or found directly via the smartphone app thanks to tracking.

Prices and Availability

The Gyroor X3 e-scooter is funded via crowdfunding platform Indiegogo. Currently, 24 backers have already raised over 350 percent of the funding goal, with over 20 days left in the campaign.

In the Super Early Bird offer, at least 799 US dollars or 822 euros are due, a holder for drinks bottles, the battery charger and a spare wheel are included. Delivery is scheduled for December 2022.
