A mini-PC like the Aerofara Aero 5 Pro (our review) is quite practical. Such a compact box on the desk forms the ideal middle ground between desktop tower and notebook. However, the Higole PC Gole 1 Pro 2022 takes the concept further in an exciting way. It has a 5.5-inch touchscreen, which turns the mini PC into a smartphone or tablet replacement in your pocket.
Higole PC Gole 1 Pro 2022 launches on Indiegogo
The manufacturer has unveiled the Higole PC Gole 1 Pro 2022, an interesting mini PC that is being funded via crowdfunding on Indiegogo. As of July 26, 19 backers have already contributed 4,623 euros and have long since exceeded the funding goal of 2,493 euros. The Chinese manufacturer’s campaign still has 42 days to go before delivery in September.
But what makes the Gole 1 Pro 2022 so special? Basically, the device is a hybrid of mini PC and compact tablet. Because it is equipped with a 5.5-inch IPS touchscreen display and can thus be operated like a tablet or smartphone.
Technically, however, it is a classic mini-PC. Windows 11 Pro is used as the operating system. An Intel Celeron J4125 processor is also used, which provides four processing cores with a clock rate of up to 2.7 GHz.
Alternatively, the Gole 1 Pro 2022 is also available with an Intel Celeron N4000 processor, which has a few technical drawbacks, but is also cheaper. Both variants have 8 GB LPDDR4X working memory and a 128 GB SSD in common.
The technical features
There are further differences between the CPU variants in terms of wireless connectivity. For example, the J4125 model offers Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, while the N4000 mini PC only supports Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0. However, both variants are otherwise similar.
Other features include four USB-A ports, a USB-C port (which is also used to charge the mini-PC), two HDMI 2.0 ports (for picture output up to 4K on two displays simultaneously), a 3.5 mm jack and an RJ45 Ethernet port (Gigabit LAN). The memory can also be expanded by up to 256 GB with a microSD card.
In addition, the Higole PC Gole 1 Pro 2022 has a single speaker and two air vents installed on the side, because the mini PC works completely without a fan and is therefore silent.
The compact dimensions are also impressive. The device is only 142 mm high, 91.2 mm wide and 17.76 mm deep and thus not much bigger than an iPhone 13 Pro, which the manufacturer uses for comparison. Unfortunately, no information is given about the battery’s capacity and runtime.
