Athom’s Homey smart home hub now supports integration with home appliances from Hisense, Gorenje, ASKO, ATAG, and Pelgrim. This is made possible by the official ConnectLife app, which has been available in the Homey App Store since September 10, 2026. Anyone who already has a ConnectLife account with registered devices can now integrate their washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, and split-system air conditioner directly into Homey flows, instead of having to control them only through the manufacturer’s app.

In a nutshell:

  • The ConnectLife app for Homey connects devices from Hisense, Gorenje, ASKO, ATAG, and Pelgrim
  • Supported devices include washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, and split-system air conditioners
  • Program status, remaining time, door status, and maintenance notifications appear directly in Homey Flows
  • Devices can be set to start automatically when needed, when electricity prices are at their lowest
  • Prerequisite: an existing ConnectLife account with devices already registered

What ConnectLife Changes for Homey

Large household appliances typically operate in isolation within their own apps, without interacting with lights, heating, or sensors that are already smart in the rest of the home. With ConnectLife in Homey, the data reported by an appliance can be used in a flow just like a signal from a motion detector or thermostat. Depending on the device, Homey displays the program phase, remaining time, door status, and maintenance notifications—such as low rinse aid or a full water tank. Supported programs can be started and stopped directly from Homey, and split air conditioners can also be controlled for temperature, mode, and fan speed.

The app was developed by the Hisense Group itself and is currently at version 1.1.2. It runs on Homey version 5.0.0 or later and requires a Homey Bridge for the devices’ cloud connection. In addition to cloud services like ConnectLife, Homey also supports local wireless protocols for sensors and lights, such as Zigbee, which gives the platform a very broad reach: Athom states that it is compatible with over 70,000 devices from more than 2,000 brands.

These devices can be integrated into Homey via ConnectLife

Currently, four device categories from the brands Hisense, Gorenje, ASKO, ATAG, and Pelgrim are supported:

Device Type What Homey displays or controls
Washing machine Program phase, remaining time, start/stop program, leak alert
Clothes dryer Program phase, remaining time, program start/stop
Dishwasher Program phase, remaining time, door status, warning if rinse aid is missing or the water tank is full
Split air conditioner Temperature, operating mode, and fan speed controllable via Flow

Examples of Flows with ConnectLife devices

Since device data is now sent to Homey, it can be linked to everything else the platform controls. If the washing machine has finished a cycle or the dishwasher is running low on rinse aid, Homey can send a push notification or briefly turn on the hallway light the next time you walk by, as a reminder. If the washing machine detects a leak, Homey will instead trigger an alarm on a connected speaker. The air conditioner can also be integrated into flows—for example, to automatically cool the room as soon as a presence sensor detects someone in the room.

Start appliances automatically when electricity rates are lowest

One of the more practical applications involves dynamic electricity rates. Using the “Dynamic Electricity Prices” feature in Homey Energy, you can create flows that start the washing machine or dishwasher exactly when electricity prices are low. With a dynamic plan, the difference compared to the expensive evening peak can be several hundred percent. For this to work, remote start must first be enabled on the device itself. The machine must also be loaded and ready to start before Homey can automatically turn it on.

“If you connect a ConnectLife device to Homey, you can have it start automatically during the cheapest hours of the day,” says Stefan Witkamp, CEO of Athom. “Homey already knows the electricity price, and now this information can also control the device.”

Anyone familiar with such automation features only from Home Assistant—where, for example, current fuel prices can also be displayed automatically—will find a similar system in Homey Flow, one that’s designed much more for everyday usability than for complex configuration.

Availability and Requirements

The ConnectLife app for Homey is now available in the Homey App Store and runs on Homey Cloud, Homey Pro, Homey Pro mini, and the Homey Self-Hosted Server. To set it up, you’ll need an existing ConnectLife account in which the relevant devices are already registered. If you don’t have a ConnectLife account yet, set one up first using the manufacturer’s ConnectLife app and then integrate the devices into Homey.

Conclusion

With ConnectLife in Homey, one of the most annoying everyday limitations in the smart home disappears: the fact that home appliances only appear in their own manufacturer’s app. For owners of Hisense, Gorenje, ASKO, ATAG, or Pelgrim devices, it’s worth checking out the Homey App Store—especially when combined with dynamic electricity rates. If you value push notifications when a wash cycle is complete or automatic cooling when you’re home, this app gives you exactly that—without having to jump between multiple separate manufacturer apps.
