Honor X8a and X7a: mid-range smartphones with large battery and 100 MP camera

With the Honor X8a and X7a, the manufacturer has unveiled two new mid-range smartphones that have a lot to offer for less than 300 Euros.

Honor X8a and X7a in detail

After the Honor 80 GT at the end of 2022, the Chinese manufacturer is starting 2023 with two mid-range smartphones. The Honor X8a and Honor X7a are both priced at less than 300 Euo. Both models also offer a large display, large batteries, and high megapixel numbers in the cameras. And yet there are some differences, which we want to present to you in detail.

Honor X7a: Big battery, more cameras

The Honor X7a positions itself below its sibling and comes in Titanium Silver, Ocean Blue and Midnight Black. On board is a solid configuration with the MediaTek Helio G37, 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of system storage, which is also expandable.

The 6.74-inch display resolves in HD with 1,6200 x 7.20 pixels and is interrupted by an 8 MP selfie camera at the top. It offers a frame rate of 90 hertz. At the back, Honor packs a full four cameras, including a 50-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and two 2-MP sensors for macros and depth data.

Magic Ui 6.1 based on Android 12 is used as the operating system. The battery is also very large with 5,335 mAh and is supposed to offer a long runtime. It is charged with a maximum of 22.5 watts.

Honor X8a with smaller battery

The Honor X8a relies on partly better equipment. Among them are the MediaTek Helio G88 chip, 6 GB of working memory and 128 GB of system memory, which can also be expanded. The 6.7-inch display has a resolution of 2,330 x 1,080 pixels and also offers a refresh rate of 90 Hz.

The front camera shoots images with 16 megapixels, while on the rear, the main camera relies on a full 100 megapixels. A 5 MP ultra-wide-angle camera joins a macro camera with 2 MP. In return, the battery is smaller with a capacity of 4,500 mAh, but it charges with 22.5 watts again. The colors Cyan Lake, Titanium Silver and Midnight Black are available.

The Honor X8a and X7a are both available now. They will be offered exclusively at MediaMarkt and Saturn stores, as well as Honor’s online store. The Honor X7a has an MSRP of 229.90 euros, while the Honor X8a is 269.90 euros.
