The manufacturer has unveiled the Hotwav W10 Pro, a new rugged outdoor smartphone that comes with a particularly large 15,000 mAh battery and is offered at an affordable price.
The Hotwav W10 Pro in detail
The Hotwav W10 Pro takes the 15,000 mAh battery, which can also supply other devices with energy as a powerbank, from the Non-Pro model, which is also offered in this country – for example at Amazon.
However, the new edition offers a stronger processor and more RAM in comparison. Thus, the Helios P22 is used in the Pro, which combines eight Cortex A53 cores. In addition, there is 6 GB of working memory, so you should not expect a real performance miracle.
The 64 GB of internal storage is also rather tight. However, the storage can be expanded via microSD card if a nano-SIM card is sufficient, since the second slot is a hybrid.
In return, the Hotwav W10 Pro presents itself as particularly robust and durable. It offers IP68 and IP69K certification and is certified to military standard MIL-STD-810G, which promises particularly good protection against damage from drops, immersion in water and impacts.
Display and features
The Hotwav W10 Pro relies on a 6.53-inch display that resolves at 1,600 x 720 pixels and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The manufacturer does not provide many details, but the Non-Pro already offered a brightness of 450 nits.
The rest of the equipment includes, for example, a 20-megapixel main camera that is supplemented by an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens. On the front, there is a selfie cam with 5 megapixels. The smartphone also supports NFC, offers a fingerprint sensor on the side and a GNSS module with GPS, Glonass, Beidou and Galileo.
Android 12 is used as the operating system, but 5G is not supported. Thanks to the 15,000 mAh battery, however, the Hotwav W10 Pro is supposed to provide an impressive standby time of up to 1,200 hours. Charging is exclusively via USB Type-C.
Price and Availability
The Hotwav W10 Pro is available now as an import from China at AliExpress. However, the price of around 794 Euros is currently still completely overpriced. In fact, the market launch is supposed to take place on September 5, and the outdoor smartphone is supposed to be priced at under 200 US dollars, while the first 200 orders benefit from a special discount.
