HP Elite Folio comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8Cx

The new HP Elite Folio delivers decent performance with the Snapdragon 8Cx. The Folio is a mixture of notebook and tablet at the same time.

More performance and enhanced connectivity

With the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx, the Folio has more power with up to 3.15 GHz clock. Thereby, up to 16 GBytes of LPDDR4, which is soldered on the board, are available for the processor. As far as storage space is concerned, up to a maximum of 512 GB is available as an M.2 SSD. In addition, HP’s Elite Folio has extended connectivity with Wi-Fi 6. Optionally, 4G via X20 modem and 5G via an additional X55 modem can also be used. A fan for cooling is not necessary.

The screen of the Folio is 13.5 inches and has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,280 pixels. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It is practical for work that the display can not only be folded backwards, but also pulled forwards. Thus, it is also suitable for input via pen or finger. This makes the Elite Folio more of a tablet than a notebook. The stylus has its place above the keyboard, where it is also charged directly. The nano-SIM card is at the head end of the pen in the Folio. When the user is in laptop mode, it is a classic notebook for work. As with most tablets, the ports are very clear. The HP Elite Folio has two USB-C ports, which are also intended for charging. In addition, it has a usual jack port.

Excellent battery life

The HP Elite Folio can shine with an excellent battery life. The manufacturer claims 24.5 hours of runtime with local video playback in Full HD and a brightness of 150 nits. An audiovisual package is also provided for in the Elite Folio. The infrared webcam enables logging in via Windows Hello. With four speakers with tuning from Bang & Olufsen and several microphones with support for Cortana Far Field Premium, the Folio is also well equipped in the audio field. Weighing in at 1.3 kg, the Folio comes in at 298.6 × 229.6 × 15.95 mm (L x W x H).

Availability and price

The new HP Elite Folio will be available for purchase in select markets starting February 2021. The price is not yet known.
