Huawei MateBook 14s and MateBook 16 presented

Just in time for the launch of Windows 11, Huawei has introduced two new lightweight notebooks, the MateBook 14s and the MateBook 16, which rely on modern hardware in a compact case. For the release, the laptops will also be equipped with exciting features.

Lightweight performance artists

The Huawei MateBook 14s is made entirely of metal and weighs around 1.43 kg. It is 313.82 mm wide, 229.76 mm deep and only 16.7 mm high, making it a strong mobile companion. The notebook relies on rounded edges and is optionally available in the new color Spruce Green, alternatively it is also offered in Space Grey.

The 36.1 centimeter (14.2 inch) 2.5k FullView touchscreen display scores with a particularly high screen-to-body ratio of 90 percent and integrated webcam, a fast refresh rate of up to 90 Hz and the light sensor for automatic brightness control. The display achieves a brightness of 400 cd/m² and relies on the popular 3:2 format.

Inside the MateBook 14s, the 11th generation Intel Core processor with Intel Iris X graphics unit ensures top performance. Huawei also installs the latest Intel Evo platform, 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD in the top model, which is supposed to make the compact notebook suitable for editing 4K videos. A 60 kWh battery is said to provide a long runtime, and thanks to the 90W USB-C power adapter with HUAWEI SuperCharge technology, the MateBook 14s can last for three hours again in just 15 minutes of charging.

Four built-in microphones ensure good intelligibility in online conferences, which are supposed to provide particularly clear voice reproduction due to a newly developed algorithm, even at a distance of up to five meters.

Huawei MateBook 16

In the larger model, the MateBook 16, Huawei relies on a 40.6-centimeter (16-inch) 2.5K FullView display in 3:2 format. It is particularly color-rich and has been certified by TÜV Rheinland for its color accuracy. This guarantees a great color representation even in the finest details on a professional level. It covers the sRGB color space by 100% and has a contrast ratio of 1500:1.

Huawei equips the notebook with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H CPU. In combination with the 84 kWh battery and record-breaking 135 W HUAWEI SuperCharge, the MateBook 16 is a reliable partner even on longer trips. Alternatively, the device is also available with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H, 16 GB RAM and a 512 GB SSD are common to both variants.

Exciting pre-order promotions

Those who want to decide in advance for the MateBook 14s or MateBook 16 can look forward to exciting bonuses for pre-orderers. From October 05 to November 11, 2021 (MateBook 14s) and October 05 to November 21, 2021 (MateBook 16), respectively, the HUAWEI Display 23.8-inch (RRP: 159.99 euros) and the HUAWEI FreeBuds 4i (RRP: 99 euros) will be included for free as an ideal home office bundle.

Prices and availability

The Huawei MateBook 14s will be available in three different configurations in stores and in the HUAWEI Online Store from October 12, 2021:

• Intel Core i7-11370H, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD for 1299 euros (Space Gray and Spruce Green)
• Intel Core i7-11370H, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD for 1499 Euro (Space Grey)

Then, on November 02, the Huawei MateBook 16 with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H,16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage will be released for an MSRP of 1,099.00 euros. The variant with AMD Ryzen 7 5800H is priced at 1,199.00 Euros.
