HUAWEI’s popular MateBook series is growing. With the MateBook D16, the Chinese manufacturer not only wants to offer a large 16-inch display that is characterized by thin display edges. On top of that, a 12th generation Intel Core processor (H-series) is supposed to provide decent hardware power.
Armed for everyday work
Apparently, things are going well again at HUAWEI. After the tech company only recently announced the Enjoy 50 and Mate Xs, the next tech highlight is now coming. Thanks to its 16-inch display with TÜV certification, the HUAWEI MateBook D16 should be especially suitable as a practical notebook for the home office. It has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 and offers 100% coverage of the sRGB color space, which should especially please photographers, videographers and graphic designers. A low weight of just 1.7 kg should ensure that it can be carried from A to B without any problems. An Intel Core processor from the 12th generation of the H-series works under the hood of the chic metal case. Here you have the choice between the Intel Core i7-12700H processor of the 12th generation and the Intel Core i5-12450H processor of the 12th generation. This is supported by 16 GB of RAM.
The 512 GB NVMe SSD provides sufficient storage space. Intel Iris Xe Graphics is used as the graphics unit in the i7 model. The i5 version in turn comes with Intel UHD Graphics. These features should not make the notebook a gaming laptop, but it should be sufficient for everyday office use as well as video and image editing. If things get a bit more challenging, the special Shark Fin cooling system should prevent overheating. A power button with a practical fingerprint sensor is used for turning the laptop on and off. The other ports are diverse with 1 x USB Type-CTM Power (data transfer/charging), 1 x USB Type-CTM Universal (data transfer/charging/DisplayPort), 1 x USB 2.0 (Type-A), 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 (Type-A), 1 x HDMI 2.0 and 1 x 3.5 mm 2-in-1 headphone and microphone jack.
Useable at home and on the go
HUAWEI particularly emphasizes the focus on hybrid working with the upcoming MateBook D16. Thus, one should not only be equipped for all tasks in the classic office. Thanks to the 1080p webcam as well as sophisticated AI technology, HUAWEI promises best picture and sound quality. At the same time, features like the follow cam, which follows the person in front of the notebook, and the practical noise reduction sound absolutely practical for the everyday video conferences.
HUAWEI relies on its Super Device concept in order to always be able to access one’s own data quickly and easily at home and at work. This ensures that the MateBook D16 recognizes other HUAWEI devices in a flash and can establish a connection. This can be especially handy when transferring data between different devices.
