Huawei has officially confirmed that the MatePad Air (2026) will be unveiled on July 14—not just in China, but globally. A first teaser image already shows the redesigned device as well as accessories such as a keyboard case and stylus.
Redesigned camera module and new colors
On Tuesday, July 14, a global Huawei launch event will take place, at which, according to the latest teaser, the MatePad Air (2026) will also be announced. Compared to the MatePad Pro Max and previous Air models, Huawei has primarily redesigned the camera module: It now houses a single lens with an LED flash and protrudes slightly further from the body than on its direct predecessor. The inscription on the module confirms a 50-megapixel main camera.
The tablet features a slightly curved frame that blends seamlessly into the back and will be available in silver, pink, or light blue. The images shown also suggest built-in quad speakers, while the selfie camera is discreetly located in the narrow bezel.
Stylus and Keyboard Case as Accessories
Huawei appears to be offering the MatePad Air once again with a matching stylus and a keyboard case, though the latter does not include a touchpad. This positions the tablet, as in previous years, as a mid-range competitor to the Apple iPad Air.

Huawei has not yet provided specific technical details about the MatePad Air (2026). Last year’s predecessor featured a 12-inch IPS panel in a 3:2 aspect ratio with a resolution of 2,800 x 1,840 pixels and a 144 Hz refresh rate, a 10,000-mAh battery with 66-watt fast charging, and an aluminum body just 5.9 millimeters thick.
