IFA 2022: Asus ExpertBook B5 business notebook announced

Asus has definitely earned itself a little bit of diligence for its hustle and bustle at IFA 2022. The electronics manufacturer is not only represented with its promising MicroATX PC case Prime AP201. On top of that, the company has introduced many new notebooks and convertibles. One of the most classic new additions might be the Asus ExpertBook B5. This is an inconspicuous, ultra-light notebook that is obviously aimed at business users in particular. It has the ideal technical specifications for this.

The best prerequisites for office and studies

If you are still looking for a suitable, powerful notebook for the office, home office or studies, you should take a look at the Asus ExpertBook B5. The electronics company presented it together with many other notebooks and convertibles at this year’s Consumer Electronics Fair in Germany’s capital. According to the manufacturer, the notebook is supposed to be extremely portable despite a screen diagonal of a wonderfully large 16 inches. Its extremely low weight of just 1.4 kg ensures that. Consequently, it can also be taken along on the train, bus or plane.

However, the low weight also has its catch. If a lightweight is important to you, you have to live with a battery of only 50 Wh here. An 84 Wh battery is optionally available for all those who value battery life more. But that is not all that the Asus ExpertBook B5 has to offer. On top of that, you can optionally have a powerful Intel Core i7-1270P installed in the CPU. This gets support from up to 40 GB of RAM. If you want, you can also get quite a strong graphics performance with the Intel Arc A350M in the graphics unit.

You only get to see an average panel on the entry-level model of the Asus ExpertBook B5, which resolves in 1,920 x 1,200. The weak color quality of the entry-level panel will not bother business users who are mainly occupied with Excel spreadsheets anyway. However, an upgrade is also possible if you want more. You should also be able to choose a 4K UHD OLED panel as an alternative. Considering the size that the 16-inch brings with it, you also get a separate numeric keypad on the Asus ExpertBook B5, which also makes it clear that it is a true business laptop.

Price and availability

Especially for business users, the Asus ExpertBook B5 could prove to be a real revelation. The MSRP starting at 1,300 euros also sounds fair in view of the good features. We will only see how good the notebook really is in a few weeks. After all, it is supposed to be launched in time for the Christmas business in the fourth quarter of 2022.
