IFA 2022: Jabra Elite 5 TWS in-ears presented

At this year’s IFA, the topic of HiFi also plays a major role. For example, Anker presented its latest headphones at the consumer electronics show. But also top dog Jabra may not be missing in this area of course. The Danish headphone experts have presented a new pair of TWS headphones with the Jabra Elite 5, which, among other things, should have active noise cancellation but also the audio codec aptX on board.

Up to 34 hours of battery life with the Jabra Elite 5

With the Jabra Elite 5 comes no new flagship from the Danish company. Rather, the true-wireless in-ears settle in the upper mid-range. However, that does not mean that they are not technically up-to-date. The new headphones offer Qualcomm aptX, which is probably the most modern audio codec. This not only promises loss-free music transmission via Bluetooth. On top of that, the Qualcomm QCC3050 chip also ensures the lowest possible delays between picture and sound – important for video streaming.

While the audio codec sounds promising, the drivers seem a bit underpowered at first glance. After all, they measure just 6 mm. In terms of battery life, the headphones sound big again. Thus, the headphones themselves are supposed to offer six hours. The charging case provides another 28 hours, which promises a total of 34 hours of music enjoyment. Once the battery is empty, it can be recharged either via the USB cable or via Qi charging surface.

Active noise cancellation on board

With the help of the total of six microphones on board the Jabra Elite 5, you can not only make calls. On top of that, these are also the starting point for the hybrid ANC that is used here. The microphones not only record background noise, but also measure the sound between the headphones and the ear. This is to achieve the most effective suppression of annoying background noise. Athletes will be happy to know that the smart headphones are protected against dust and water according to IP55. Thus, sweat in particular should not be a problem.

The Jabra Elite 5 are available in stores now. Here you have the choice between the colors black and beige. The Danish hi-fi experts call an MSRP of 149.99 euros.
