At IFA 2026, iRobot is unveiling the Roomba Max 875 Combo, a new flagship model designed to build on the company’s past strengths following several challenging years and a change in ownership. The full name, iRobot Roomba Max 875 Combo Robot + AutoWash Dock, already hints at the sophisticated base station, while the robot itself aims to impress with powerful suction and a wide mopping roller.
AutoWash Dock: Automated Cleaning, Drying, and Refilling
At the heart of the system is the AutoWash docking station. It cleans the robot’s mopping unit with water heated to 80 degrees and then dries it with warm air at 55 degrees to prevent odors. In addition, the station empties the dust bin into an AllergenLock dust bag with an activated carbon filter.
According to iRobot, this bag is designed to last up to 90 days before it needs to be replaced. If necessary, it also automatically refills the cleaning concentrate. This comprehensive maintenance feature was already present in its predecessor, the iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max, but has been further enhanced in the new flagship model.
SealForce Suction Technology and PowerSpin Max Roller Mop
For vacuuming, iRobot relies on its proprietary SealForce technology, which is designed to thoroughly clean even carpets with an airflow of 20 l/s and suction power of up to 35,000 Pa. For mopping, the robot uses the extra-wide PowerSpin Max Roller Mop, which works in conjunction with ThermaMist technology. This system directs heated mist precisely onto stains to break down even stubborn dirt.
We’re already familiar with a similar feature from the Ecovacs X12 OmniCyclone (Review | € 899.00 *), which has its nozzle located at the front. With this, iRobot is going head-to-head with mop-roller competitors such as the recently tested MOVA Z70 Ultra Roller Complete (Review | € 949.00 *), which uses a similar design with a rotating roller instead of traditional mopping pads.
Features, Price, and Availability
The features are rounded out by a carpet shield, a 45-millimeter mopping roller extension for edge-to-edge mopping, as well as LiDAR and PrecisionVision AI for navigation and obstacle detection. Despite its extensive technology, the robot vacuum has a height of just under 10 centimeters. The iRobot Roomba Max 875 Combo Robot + AutoWash Dock is available now at a suggested retail price of 1,199 euros.
