With the Badkruka, IKEA has introduced a new Bluetooth speaker that retails for 49.99 euros and features a Spotify Tap button, stereo pairing, and multi-room functionality. With this launch, the furniture giant is once again expanding its audio lineup following the expiration of its six-year partnership with Sonos in May 2025.
Visually, the Badkruka resembles a small console: a cube with a perforated front, available in black and a shade of pink. The design is by Ola Wihlborg, who has long been responsible for IKEA’s speaker lines. Measuring 16 x 16 x 17.5 cm and made of ABS and polycarbonate, it remains compact enough for a shelf or nightstand. It does not have a built-in battery; the speaker is powered by a cord.
IKEA Badkruka Bluetooth Speaker: Spotify Tap and Stereo Pairing
The highlight is the Spotify Tap button on top: a single press is all it takes to resume playback or start a new recommendation—without even having to pick up your smartphone. It also features physical buttons for volume and playback, as well as three fixed EQ presets for sound customization.

Two Badkruka speakers can be paired to form a stereo pair, and if you like, you can integrate additional compatible IKEA speakers for a multi-room setup. According to several reports, the device also supports an optical Toslink connection, which allows it to be paired with a TV. IKEA is keeping details about the sound quality under wraps, describing it only as balanced in the midrange. Information on driver size or a subwoofer is completely lacking so far.
Following Sonos: IKEA Focuses on Affordability and Simplicity
The Badkruka is part of a series of new models with which IKEA has been revamping its own audio division since the end of its partnership with Sonos. Just this October 2025, the Blomprakt—a combination of a table lamp and speaker priced at around 120 euros—was released, followed shortly before by the Nattbad, featuring a retro radio design, for 50 euros. All three models share the Spotify Tap button and do away with complex app control—in stark contrast to the old Symfonisk series, which was still entirely dependent on the Sonos app.

For IKEA, this is a logical continuation of its new product line: better to offer an affordable entry-level device with a core function that everyone can understand than a smart speaker ecosystem with its own app. At a price of 50 euros and without a rechargeable battery, it’s clear who the new IKEA Bluetooth speaker is aimed at: anyone looking for a simple device for the kitchen, bathroom, or home office who doesn’t want to deal with complicated setup.
The IKEA Badkruka is now available for order in the furniture store’s online shop; according to launch information, it was also in stock at several brick-and-mortar stores at launch. Whether and when the model will be released outside of Europe remains to be seen.
