After the first render images of the upcoming Insta360 X6 had already surfaced, Winfuture editor Roland Quandt has now provided another leak—this time with the key technical specifications of the 360-degree camera. One thing is clear: The X6 is likely to be more expensive than its predecessor, but it also offers tangible improvements.

Larger Sensors for Higher Resolution

Even with the jump from the Insta360 X4 to the X5, the camera sensors grew from 1/1.8 to 1/1.28 inches. According to the leak, the X6 will now feature two 1/1.1-inch sensors. It’s still unclear exactly which sensor will be used, but each sensor is said to be capable of up to 42 megapixels. In 360-degree photo mode, this combines to a total of up to 120 megapixels.

8K50 Video and Faster Slow Motion

In 360-degree mode, the X6 is expected to record 8K video at 50 frames per second, while in “PureVideo 360” mode, it will support up to 8K30. According to the leak, single-lens mode will support up to 5K60 or 4K120 for slow-motion footage—whereas the X5 was limited to 4K60 in single-lens mode. Time-lapse recordings will be captured in 11K resolution, and the camera also supports 10-bit video, Dolby Vision, I-Log, and the new Adaptive Tone 2.0 exposure technology.

More Compact Body, Larger Battery

Despite its more compact dimensions of approximately 10 x 5 x 4 cm and a slightly lower weight of 195 grams, the X6 is said to have a larger battery (2,600 mAh) than the X5 (2,400 mAh). This is expected to increase the maximum recording time from 208 to 233 minutes. So far, only the brightness (1,200 nits) of the new touchscreen OLED display is known; details on screen size, aperture, or charging speed are still missing.

Price and Availability

According to the leak, the Insta360 X6 is expected to cost around 700 euros, with a bundle including accessories priced at around 800 euros. An official launch date has not yet been announced. Until its unveiling, the current Insta360 X5 remains the manufacturer’s flagship model in the 360-degree segment.
