Instagram becomes more desktop friendly

The social media platform Instagram, which belongs to Facebook, has received several updates in the last few days that make it much more desktop-friendly. Until now, its use has been limited mainly to mobile devices.

New is the possibility to answer direct messages on the PC and start new conversations or even group chats. So you don’t have to take your smartphone out of your pocket or run your PC browser in mobile mode.

Furthermore, live content can now be watched on the PC. Instagram is also currently testing with some users how to save live content to IGTV so that it is available for more than 24 hours through the stories. IGTV content is also now teaserable via Stories. This is done by posting the first 15 seconds of an IGTV clip as a story.
