IO Emobility Blade One: Stylish carbon e-bike presented

The IO Emobility Blade One is a chic, minimalist e-bike made of carbon. The stylish city e-bike is equipped with a powerful battery for a range of 110 km and a 250-watt motor with 48 Nm of torque.

The IO Emobility Blade One in detail

The new IO Emobility Blade One is an exciting pedelec made of carbon, which should cut a good figure especially in the city. All drive elements are skillfully hidden in the lightweight carbon frame, which means that the e-bike (including battery) weighs just 19 kg.

In view of the only 14.6 kg Thömus Lightrider E Ultimate not the top value, but still a pleasantly low weight. The 250 watt motor on the rear wheel of the pedelec, which was specially developed for IO Emobility, provides pedal assistance up to 25 km/h. Five different levels are available via the pedal assistant on the handlebars.

The Blade One does not have a gearshift at all. The e-bike selects the torque of up to 48 Nm itself and adjusts the gear ratio accordingly to transmit power to the rear wheel.

Seamlessly integrated into the frame, LG’s 36 V, 10.4 Ah battery can be removed for charging when needed and, at the lowest level of assistance, comes with a range of up to 110 km.

Smart and comfortable

The wide handlebars of the IO Emobility Blade One accommodate a permanently installed LC display. This informs, for example, about charging status and speed and also has a charging port for the smartphone.

The Blade One sits on narrow 28-inch city tires from KENDA, which have a particularly low rolling resistance. A high-quality gel saddle provides a high level of comfort even on longer bike rides.

Braking is with fully integrated, hydraulic brakes from Tektro, which should be characterized by high braking power even in bad weather conditions. In addition, the front light merged with the design with 40 lux ensures that you are well seen even in the dark and can see even everything important in front of you. In the rear there is room for a light from Selle Royal, which can be activated by a push switch.

Price and availability

Offered is the e-bike in high-gloss white or black and wants to convince with a clear, high-quality design. The recommended retail price is 2,199 euros, but you can currently get the IO Emobility Blade One directly from the manufacturer for the pre-order price of just 1,899 euros. In addition, IO Emobility offers separate mudguards for front and rear for 39 euros.
