iPhone 14 Pro rumors: fast charging and higher prices

Apple will unveil its new iPhone 14 smartphones as early as next week. New iPhone 14 Pro rumors point to a fast charging feature of the Pro model, as well as increased prices.

iPhone 14 Pro rumors reveal new details

On September 07, the time has finally come, because then Apple will officially introduce the new iPhone 14 models. Shortly before the launch event, new rumors about the Pro variant are making the rounds, the first of which talks about a fast charging feature.

Leaker DuanRui reveals on Twitter that a power supply manufacturer has started sending out chargers with a speed of 30 watts to media representatives and shows the iPhone 14 series in the corresponding video.

Further, however, DuanRui says that it appears the Lightning port on the new iPhone will support a maximum of 27 watts. Whether he means all models or only the non-pro variants is unclear. Still, that would be an increase over the current generation’s 23 watts of charging power. However, this also means that USB-C will probably not be available this year and will probably only be introduced with the iPhone 15 generation.

iPhone 14 Pro price higher than predecessor

The second of the iPhone 14 Pro rumors comes from analyst Daniel Ives of Wedbush Securities and concerns pricing. He claims that the iPhone 14 will be offered in the U.S. at the same price as last year.

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, on the other hand, are expected to be $100 more expensive, mainly due to the increased prices for the installed parts. Converted, that would likely be $899 for the iPhone 14 and $1,249 for the iPhone 14 Pro, and $1,349 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

As recently as July, rumors also spoke of a price increase for the regular 14 model. Apple would maintain the production volume compared to the previous year and produce around 90 million iPhone 14 series devices by the end of 2022.

We will find out whether this is really the case on September 7 at 7:00 p.m. German time, when Apple holds the “Far Out” launch event, at which the new Apple Watches will probably also be presented. It is almost certain that at least the Pro models will do without the notch in the display in favor of a pill-shaped design.
