With the JBL PartyBox 330 and the JBL PartyBox 130, JBL presents the next generation of its popular party speaker series. The new models combine powerful sound, revised light shows and a completely new design concept with modern features such as Bluetooth 6.0, Auracast™ and AI-supported sound optimization. While the PartyBox 330 is primarily intended for larger events and mobile parties, the more compact PartyBox 130 is aimed at users looking for flexible party sound on the go. JBL is increasingly focusing on performance, design and more sustainable materials.
- JBL PartyBox 330 with 280 watts and PartyBox 130 with 200 watts of power
- JBL AI Sound Boost with Smart EQ mode for automatic sound optimization
- New dynamic light shows with synchronized effects
- Bluetooth 6.0, Auracast™ and karaoke functions integrated
JBL PartyBox 330 delivers more power and concert feeling
The new JBL PartyBox 330 is positioned above the PartyBox 320 (our test) and is clearly aimed at users looking for powerful sound and high volume for larger rooms or outdoor parties. With a total output of 280 watts and two 6.5-inch woofers, the speaker is said to deliver significantly deeper and more powerful bass than previous generations. The system is complemented by two PEN dome tweeters, which should enable clear treble and more precise reproduction.
What is interesting here is the use of technologies that JBL also claims to use in professional concert systems. The combination of powerful subwoofers and intelligent sound optimization via “JBL AI Sound Boost” seems particularly plausible, as modern speakers increasingly rely on automatic real-time adjustments. The integrated Smart EQ mode analyzes music signals and dynamically adapts the sound tuning to different genres.
The new housing design is also clearly noticeable. For the first time, JBL has opted for a hexagonal housing profile with a striking front design and ripple effects on the side panels. Together with the redesigned light show, the PartyBox 330 is intended to act not only acoustically but also visually as the centerpiece of a party.
JBL is also expanding the connectivity options. In addition to Bluetooth 6.0, USB-C, AUX and an optical input are also available. The option to connect the speaker directly to televisions for karaoke sessions or events seems particularly practical. Two microphone and guitar inputs underline the focus on interactive use.
JBL PartyBox 130 focuses on mobility and flexible application options
The more compact JBL PartyBox 130 takes over many of the functions of the larger version, but is aimed more at mobile applications and smaller events. With 200 watts of power, it is still powerful enough for garden parties, gaming rooms or spontaneous outdoor events.
Improved 5.25-inch woofers and new silk dome tweeters should deliver a powerful sound despite the more compact design. JBL has once again combined this with AI Sound Boost and dynamic light show, which should give the smaller PartyBox a similar experience to the larger model.
The battery life is particularly relevant for mobile use. According to JBL, the PartyBox 130 achieves up to 15 hours of playback time. In addition, a quick-charging function enables up to 80 minutes of further use after just ten minutes of charging. Together with the foldable carrying handle and IPX4 splash water protection, the speaker is clearly designed for flexible outdoor use.
The multi-speaker connectivity via Auracast™ also fits in with the current trend of wireless audio ecosystems. Multiple compatible JBL speakers can be paired together, enabling larger sound setups without additional hardware. The JBL One app further expands the control and customization options.
The focus on sustainability is also noteworthy. JBL uses recycled plastics, recycled magnetic materials and FSC-certified packaging for both models. This aspect is becoming increasingly important, especially in the field of consumer electronics, and complements the technical features in a meaningful way.
Conclusion
With the JBL PartyBox 330 and PartyBox 130, JBL has significantly modernized its party speaker series. Improved sound, AI-supported sound optimization, new light shows and modern connectivity make both models versatile. While the PartyBox 330 is primarily aimed at larger events, the more compact PartyBox 130 scores with mobility and suitability for everyday use. The JBL PartyBox 130 will be available from May 15, 2026 for 399.99 euros RRP, the larger JBL PartyBox 330 will follow in July 2026 for 599.99 euros RRP.
