JBL Tour PRO 2 and Tour ONE M2: Innovative headphones with hi-fi sound

About a year and a half after the debut of the Tour product series at CES 2021, we now have the successors of the headphones in the house. Namely, the JBL Tour PRO 2 true wireless earbuds and the JBL Tour ONE M2 over-ear headphones, which aim to score with innovative features and high-fidelity sound.

JBL Tour PRO 2: TWS in-ears with smart charging case

The innovative of the true-wireless earbuds JBL Tour PRO 2 already begins with the charging case. Thus, the manufacturer has created the world’s first intelligent charging case on the market. It features a 1.45-inch LED touch display that lets you directly adjust the sound, as well as receive and view calls, messages, app notifications and more in real time.

All without having to operate your smartphone or open the JBL Headphones app. Operation is said to be particularly intuitive. The Tour PRO 2 also offer adaptive Active Noise-Cancelling (ANC) technology, which the manufacturer claims analyzes your ear canal to customize the amount of noise cancellation.

The 10mm drivers are said to provide the iconic JBL Pro sound along with rich bass. Also on offer is immersive JBL Spatial Sound, as well as Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity including the new Bluetooth LE audio codec.

Also impressive is the battery life, which is said to be 40 hours (10 hrs for the earphones and 30 hrs in the charging case). 6 microphones including VoiceAware also promise strong sound quality during calls, while the oval tube design is supposed to combine high comfort with a successful passive seal.

JBL Tour ONE M2 with strong ANC

The over-ear model, on the other hand, goes by the name of JBL Tour ONE M2 and is said to offer nothing less than the best ANC the manufacturer has ever installed. As such, the manufacturer promises that the ANC feature can “take on the industry leaders” – which likely means Sony’s WH-1000XM5 and the new Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless.

The new hybrid True Adaptive Noise-Cancelling is combined with 40mm JBL Pro drivers, whose sound can also be customized using Personi-Fi 2.0. The ANC automatically adapts to the environment in real time.

Voice recognition is also offered, which automatically pauses music playback and activates the transparency mode (Ambient Aware) when the headphones detect your voice. We already know this feature from Sony.

With up to 50 hours of playtime or 30 hours with ANC activated, the battery life of the JBL Tour ONE M2 is also more than respectable. Ten minutes on power should also be enough to power the headphones again for five hours of music playback.

Features of the JBL Tour ONE M2:

  • True adaptive noise-canceling with customizable ANC and ambient sound
  • Dynamic 40mm drivers with legendary JBL PRO sound
  • Customizable sound experience with Personi-Fi 2.0
  • Immersive JBL Spatial Sound
  • Up to 50 hours of playback time (30 hours with ANC)
  • Perfect calls with 4 microphones and VoiceAware
  • Bluetooth 5.3, LE Audio compatible
  • Convenient, compact, foldable design and only 268g weight

Prices and Availability

Both JBL headphones will be quite a while coming, however, and are not expected to be available in stores until January 2023. They will be offered in black and champagne. In terms of price, the JBL Tour PRO 2 has an MSRP of 249.00 euros, while the over-ear model JBL Tour ONE M2 comes in at a price of 299.00 euros.
