Kärcher wants to enter the competitive robot vacuum market with the Kärcher RCV 3. The technical details already read promising. The vacuum is not only supposed to come with reliable LiDAR navigation, but also offer app control and a wiping function.
Kärcher conquers the household
Actually, we know Kärcher primarily from its high-pressure cleaners, with the help of which, for example, the home terrace can be freed from weeds and coarse dirt. In this area, the family-owned company based in the tranquil town of Winnenden has even made it into the Duden dictionary and established the verb “kärchern.” But apparently Kärcher now also wants to conquer the household. The first ambitions for this were already seen when the manufacturer first launched its window cleaners with integrated suction function. These have now found their way into many households and make window cleaning immensely easier.
Alternatives to the Kärcher RCV 3
Kärcher RCV 3 scores with price-performance ratio
After the window cleaning now follows the floor cleaning. With the Kärcher RCV 3, the company celebrates namely a new addition to its own ranks. This is a vacuum robot that wants to show off with a great price-performance ratio. The smart household helper has a suction power of 2,500 pascals. Its diameter of just under 35 cm sounds just as industry-standard as the rest of its build. Thus, it has a main brush as well as a side brush on the underside. The height of 9.4 cm might be a bit high for very flat furniture. This can be attributed to the LiDAR sensor technology that the Kärcher RCV 3 offers.
This not only ensures that the robot vacuum cleaner can quickly map its surroundings. On top of that, the robot should thus be able to find its way around the apartment perfectly, even in absolute darkness. Of course, an app control is not missing either. The app can be used to adjust the cleaning process according to the user’s preferences and to take a look at the map that has been created. As befits a vacuum robot in 2023, the Kärcher RCV 3 naturally also offers a wiping function. However, one should probably not expect too much here. After all, it is a rigid wiping cloth on the bottom, which is moistened with the help of a 170 ml water tank.
Price and availability
The Kärcher RCV 3 is available now from the traditional company’s in-house online store. An MSRP of 369.99 euros sounds quite fair. The robot vacuum cleaner will be delivered at the end of January.
