KIOXIA emphasizes that users of older SATA SSDs or PCIe 3.0 models in particular will benefit from a significant leap in performance. The EXCERIA BASIC complements the existing line-up of EXCERIA PLUS and EXCERIA PRO, which cover higher performance and PCIe 5.0 options. While the PRO models are targeted at enthusiasts and content creators, the BASIC offshoot is aimed at those looking for a modern NVMe upgrade without paying the price premium of the premium segments. Market launch in the fourth quarter of 2025
KIOXIA plans to launch the EXCERIA BASIC series in the fourth quarter of 2025. The models will be available with up to 2 TB capacity and will be available via KIOXIA’s retail partners and online store. The company has not yet announced prices, but it is plausible that the series will be priced below the existing EXCERIA PLUS models.
With the EXCERIA BASIC, KIOXIA is launching an SSD that is clearly aimed at users who are looking for a fast, reliable and inexpensive upgrade for their PC or laptop – and do not want to do without the latest PCIe 4.0 technology.
