Kioxia Exceria Pro and G2: New NVMe SSDs in M.2 format

Storage specialist Kioxia has introduced two new NVMe SSDs for the mainstream PC market. The Exceria Pro relies on the fast PCIe 4.0 technology, the Exceria G2 presents itself as a price-performance tip among them.

The Exceria Pro is also interesting for demanding PC users and gamers thanks to its PCIe Gen4x4 interface. After all, the use of the fourth PCIe generation doubles the maximum sequential read speed compared to the EXCERIA PLUS series.

On the other hand, the Exceria G2 is more at home in the mainstream segment and achieves sequential data rates of over 2,000 MB/s. The manufacturer also increases the range of capacities and now offers the G2 in a size of up to 2 terabytes.

Both memory series relied on Kioxia’s BiCS Flash 3D memory and will go on sale as M.2-2280 models, making them an interesting option for both desktop PCs and notebooks.

Pricing and Availability

The release date has so far only been roughly narrowed down to the 4th quarter of 2021, and the manufacturer is still keeping a tight lid on the prices for the Kioxia Exceria Pro and Exceria G2.
