KIOXIA Europe has introduced the EXCERIA PRO G2 SSD series as the new flagship in its personal SSD portfolio. These high-end drives utilize PCIe 5.0 and BiCS FLASH™ TLC 3D flash to achieve sequential read speeds of up to 14,900 MB/s and write speeds of up to 13,700 MB/s. They are perfect for gamers, content creators and enthusiasts who need maximum performance in high-end PCs or next-gen consoles.

Record-breaking PCIe 5.0 performance
The EXCERIA PRO G2 series sets the benchmark in the consumer SSD world with its immense bandwidth and sustained speeds under continuous load. Based on KIOXIA’s advanced BiCS FLASH™ TLC 3D flash and a high-performance controller, the models achieve peak sequential speeds that enable instant loading of large games, seamless 8K video editing and accelerated AI applications. The random read and write performance ensures responsive multitasking, for example when streaming game levels or during intensive creative workflows.

Available in 1 TB (14,400/12,700 MB/s), 2 TB (14,900/13,400 MB/s) and 4 TB (14,900/13,700 MB/s), the SSDs offer scalable capacities without compromise. The M.2 2280 form factor with S3 or S4 height fits into current mainboards and PS5-compatible systems. Compared to other EXCERIA models, the PRO G2 positions itself as a top performer: it clearly outperforms the mainstream EXCERIA PLUS G4 (10,000/8,200 MB/s) and the balanced G3 series in terms of bandwidth and endurance. This makes it ideal for high-end builds where every millisecond counts, whether in gaming rigs or professional content production systems.
Efficiency, reliability and cooling
Despite its power, the EXCERIA PRO G2 remains energy efficient: it consumes less power than the previous generation and achieves up to 110% higher performance per watt at maximum read speed. Special product labels improve heat dissipation, which ensures stability under heavy loads and minimizes cooling requirements – crucial for compact systems without extensive coolers.
Robustness is underlined by an MTTF of 1.5 million hours, TBW values from 600 TB (1 TB) to 2,400 TB (4 TB) as well as TRIM and garbage collection support. The supplied SSD Utility software allows monitoring, firmware updates and health checks to maximize service life. Operating temperatures from 0 to 85 °C as well as shock and vibration resistance round off the profile for demanding applications.

The series complements KIOXIA’s portfolio perfectly: In addition to the affordable EXCERIA BASIC (PCIe 4.0), the balanced G3 and the PLUS G4, the PRO G2 offers the ultimate solution for users who want to take full advantage of PCIe 5.0. Availability and outlook
The EXCERIA PRO G2 SSD series will be launched from the fourth quarter of 2025 and will be sold via retailers. Prices are not yet finalized – estimates range from around €170 for 1 TB to €410 for 4 TB.
