Klipsch introduces ProMedia 2.1 BT

Audiophiles will definitely have heard the name Klipsch before. The US manufacturer has always stood for uncompromisingly good sound. With the ProMedia 2.1 BT, the sound experts now want to be able to offer great sound for the desk – And all that wirelessly.

A grateful update

We already know the ProMedia 2.1 system. Now Klipsch has presented an exciting update with the “BT variant”. Contrary to what the name suggests, this one not only offers better connectivity thanks to Bluetooth. There is also supposed to be more power under the hood of the speakers. Those who still prefer wired sound will be happy about the classic headphone jack. Klipsch promises a sound that is supposed to deliver the best performance for pretty much every field of use. No matter if you want a powerful atmosphere while gaming or watching movies, or quiet moments while listening to classical music. Everything should be possible. Thanks to Bluetooth, it is also possible to play back media independently of the PC without any complications. After all, you can also play music with your smartphone, tablet or other Bluetooth-enabled sources.

Klipsch remains true to its name

Despite the small size of the speakers, Klipsch emphasizes that the 2.1 system should offer the legendary sound that the manufacturer has stood for over many years. Of course, the company could have opted for two large monitors. But then the plan would not have worked out. After all, the ProMedia 2.1 BT is clearly supposed to take the perfect middle path between compact speakers and hi-fi sound. The target group here is all those for whom the weak sound of integrated notebook or PC speakers is simply not enough. The two compact speakers of the ProMedia 2.1 BT rely on a MicroTractrix horn speaker as well as a 3-inch mid-woofer. When paired with the 6.5-inch subwoofer, Klipsch hopes to be able to provide a juicy sound for any genre.

Finally Bluetooth on board

Surely many owners of the classic ProMedia 2.1 will have long wanted wireless connectivity for their system. After all, you don’t just want to enjoy the sound with your PC or TV. In the age of increasingly rare jack connections on the smartphone, everyone wants a wireless connection. Klipsch has heard the wishes and spends his ProMedia 2.1 BT selbige.

But even though you can now connect the 2.1 system to your smartphone, it is and remains tailor-made for use on the desk. According to the manufacturer, the two satellites and the massive subwoofer score in almost every discipline. Should it ever get a bit loud while gaming or enjoying a movie and the neighbors quickly get pissed off, this is no problem either. Conveniently, you can connect your headphones to the system.

Small but mighty

You shouldn’t be confused by the ProMedia 2.1 BT’s dimensions at all. The wireless speakers offer a system power of proud 200 watts. So you can use it well and good times for full-blown parties. But not only the pure wattage is supposed to have a big share in the great sound. The special Klipsch MicroTractrix horn speakers also play a big role. Due to their special design, they should be able to get the maximum out of every single watt. We are curious whether Klipsch can implement its promised and now legendary crystal-clear sound in the compact class.

Price and availability

If you’re currently looking for suitable speakers for your desk, you should definitely take a look at the ProMedia 2.1 BT. These are available now. Klipsch calls here a RRP of 249.00 euros.
