Klipsch The Sevens and The Nines: New active monitor speakers unveiled

Audio specialist Klipsch has unveiled Klipsch The Sevens and The Nines, high-resolution active monitor speakers that expand its retro-inspired Heritage Wireless speaker series.

Klipsch The Sevens and The Nines in detail

Klipsch The Sevens and The Nines are said to be particularly versatile and easy to set up, as well as intuitive to use promises the manufacturer. They can also be connected to the TV via HDMI-ARC, while an integrated phono preamplifier allows music signals from a turntable with MM system through.

In addition, playback via Bluetooth is just as possible as via optical, analog RCA or USB input, from the PC. The entire technology of the preamplifier, HiRes D/A converter and control are already built into one of the two boxes. A subwoofer output with built-in crossover allows the connection of a bass speaker.

The Klipsch Heritage Wireless Series combines true craftsmanship with state-of-the-art connectivity and the design of Klipsch’s legendary mid-20th century speakers. Luxurious materials like real wood veneer and tactile metal switches and knobs create a sophisticated look that we also liked a lot in the Klipsch Heritage Groove Bluetooth speaker (our review).

Dynamic sound

The Klipsch The Sevens and The Nines expand on the previous The Fives model and rely on very similar features. They are said to score with a room-filling, dynamic sound. Thanks to the built-in DSP amplifier, fully active crossovers and horn-loaded equipment, The Sevens and The Nines deliver the legendary Klipsch sound with dynamic imaging and the highest resolution even in large rooms. The active monitors feature 192kHz/24-bit conversion for unlimited playback of high-resolution audio tracks.

Titanium tweeters with a diameter of 25 millimeters are at work in both models, playing on a Tractrix horn. The latter was invented by Klipsch and is supposed to optimally adapt the radiation of the higher frequencies to the size of the respective woofer and the cabinet.

The Nines offer a total continuous output of 240 watts and use a completely redesigned 23cm long-throw woofer with composite cone. The Sevens position themselves slightly below that and, with 200 watts of total continuous power and an 18-cm long-throw woofer, are well-suited for most living rooms.

Easy operation, even via app

The Sevens and The Nines can be operated in several ways. Two dials on the master box can be used to adjust the source and volume, both of which are displayed via LEDs directly on the speakers.

Conveniently operated from the comfort of the sofa via IR remote control or via the companion app Klipsch Connect, which allows individual settings for equalizer, room adjustment and subwoofer adjustment. Modes for more dynamic bass, a night mode, firmware upgrades and more can also be set and accessed in the app.

Prices and Availability

The Klipsch The Nines and The Sevens will be available from authorized dealers in February 2023. MSRP for The Sevens is 1,599.00 euros for the complete set, while The Nines are 1,999.00 euros. Already available are The Fives, which are offered at an MSRP of 899.00 Euros.
