With the Koga E-Xite, the Dutch manufacturer is launching a new trekking e-bike on the market, which should cut a fine figure on roads and cycle paths as well as on country lanes and forest tracks. As a so-called SUV e-bike, it bridges the gap between a classic city pedelec and a full-blown e-mountain bike. The drive comes from Bosch, the gears from Enviolo – and the battery has a whopping 800 watt hours.
Koga E-Xite: Powerful Bosch drive meets large battery
At the heart of the Koga E-Xite is the proven Bosch Performance Line CX mid-motor with a torque of 85 Nm. The motor is one of the most powerful drives in the Bosch portfolio and is therefore particularly suitable for hilly terrain and more demanding tours. It is controlled by the Kiox 500 display in combination with an LED remote control.
The Bosch PowerTube battery with 800 Wh capacity is particularly noteworthy. The energy storage unit is integrated into the down tube and can be removed from the side – a clever 15° positioning makes it easier to remove. The above-average battery capacity promises a significantly greater range than many competitor models, which often only rely on 500 or 625 Wh.
Low-maintenance drive thanks to Gates belt and Enviolo hub gears
A special feature of the E-Xite is the Gates CDX carbon belt, which replaces the classic bicycle chain. Belt drives are considered to be virtually maintenance-free, run more quietly and do not get dirty – a real advantage for commuters and frequent riders. In combination with the Enviolo trekking hub gears, the result is a continuously variable system with a gear range of 380 percent. Shifting under load is therefore possible without any problems, which is particularly practical on inclines or in stop-and-go traffic.
Features and comfort of the Koga E-Xite
Koga has designed the E-Xite as a fully equipped trekking e-bike. The Suntour Mobie35 Boost suspension fork offers 100 mm of travel and absorbs bumps on gravel and forest paths. In addition, a Koga suspension seat post provides further comfort at the rear. The wider Schwalbe Super Moto-X 62-584 tires provide good grip on both asphalt and light terrain.
The braking system comes from Formula – hydraulic disc brakes of the Cura type are installed both at the front and rear. The equipment is rounded off by the Koga Premium Light Design with high beam function and a light intensity of 80 or 120 lux, a pannier rack with MIK system, Ergon grips and mudguards. Rodi Tryp30 Disc wheels round off the package.

Koga E-Xite: For whom is the e-bike worthwhile?
With a price tag of 5,999 euros, the Koga E-Xite is positioned in the upper segment of trekking e-bikes. However, for this you get a well thought-out overall package: the powerful Bosch Performance CX motor in combination with the 800 Wh battery should ensure an impressive range. The low-maintenance combination of Gates belt drive and continuously variable Enviolo gears makes the bike particularly suitable for everyday use. Anyone looking for a versatile e-bike for their daily commute to work and occasional weekend tours on forest and country lanes should take a closer look at the E-Xite.
