Smartphone and action camera in one device: that sounds like a compromise. The upcoming LAGENIO Eagle Pro wants to prove that it doesn’t have to be. And it comes with impressive features. The compact 5G rugged phone combines a fully-fledged action camera look with the everyday usability of a rugged smartphone and is aimed at users for whom two separate devices are simply too much.

  • 48 MP action camera with 4K recording, image stabilization, wide angle and horizon orientation
  • 5G + Android 16 – content can be shared directly on social networks without Wi-Fi
  • IP68/IP69K & MIL-STD-810H: Dust and waterproof, drop-proof
  • 4-inch compact format with 120 Hz display, 36 GB RAM and 33 W fast charging

LAGENIO Eagle Pro: action camera meets smartphone

The technical heart of the LAGENIO Eagle Pro is the camera system. The action camera lens on the back uses a Sony IMX586 sensor with 48 MP, an aperture of f/2.8 and a field of view of 152.6° – a true ultra-wide angle, as we know it from dedicated action cameras. The Eagle Pro records videos in 4K at 30 fps and up to 60 fps in 2K. The manufacturer claims a battery life of up to 230 minutes for 4K recordings and 270 minutes in 2K – impressive for a 3,700 mAh battery.

In addition to the action camera, there is also a 50 MP main camera (HI5021Q sensor, f/1.8, autofocus) and a 32 MP front camera with f/2.45 aperture in the housing. LAGENIO has developed its own algorithms for image stabilization, horizon levelling and distortion correction. Not bought in, but in-house. This should ensure that even fast movements, such as cycling or climbing, end up clean and straight in the image. A dedicated underwater mode rounds off the camera package.

For mounting, LAGENIO uses a standard 1/4″ thread on the base of the device. This means full compatibility with tripods, selfie sticks, helmet and bike mounts from DJI, GoPro and Insta360 – if you already own accessories from these ecosystems, you can continue to use them directly.

5G instead of Wi-Fi transfer: content directly to the cloud

Traditional action cameras enforce a workflow: first record, then transfer to the smartphone via Wi-Fi, then upload. The Eagle Pro eliminates this intermediate step. With 5G connectivity and Wi-Fi 6E (tri-band: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 GHz), photos and videos can be shared or streamed live immediately after recording – from anywhere, without a hotspot or cable.

The processor used is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 in the 4 nm process, with four Cortex-A78 cores at 2.5 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz. The RAM is 12 GB LPDDR5, expandable to 36 GB virtual, plus 256 GB UFS 3.1 memory with microSD expansion up to 1 TB. The 4-inch Incell display operates at 120 Hz and 550 nit brightness, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Android 16 comes with Gemini AI as an integrated assistant, plus Google Live Translate for real-time translations directly via headphones. NFC for contactless payment, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS with L1 and L5 band and a programmable smart key are also on board. RGB lighting on the back of the device is not just for decoration – according to LAGENIO, it also serves as a status display and night photo light.

Robustness in a compact format

Despite its 4-inch display diagonal, the Eagle Pro is not a fragile device. It meets IP68 and IP69K – i.e. protection against submersion and high-pressure water – as well as the US military standard MIL-STD-810H for drop resistance from a height of 1.5 meters. The operating temperature range extends from -20 °C to +70 °C, which is also sufficient for winter tours or use in desert regions.

The 4.0-inch IPS display with 120 Hz refresh rate and 540 × 1172 pixel resolution is compact but smooth to use. The 3,700 mAh battery with 33 W fast charging and 10 W recharging is sufficiently large for this form factor – if you are planning trips lasting several days without a charging option, you should take a power bank into account. The processor used is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G with octa-core architecture. There are also side status LEDs at the front and rear, which, according to LAGENIO, should make night shots and working in poor lighting conditions easier.

Conclusion on the LAGENIO Eagle Pro

The LAGENIO Eagle Pro is a consistently designed device for a specific target group: anyone who films, is on the move and does not want to carry two devices will get a technically sophisticated combination here. The 152.6° ultra-wide-angle action camera, 5G direct release and compatibility with DJI and GoPro accessories make the Eagle Pro more than just a hybrid experiment. The official launch of the LAGENIO Rugged Phone is planned for June 2026.
