The usual marketing term “stereo sound” describes something noticeably different in the Rhino 1 Pro than in most of its competitors. The LAGENIO Rugged Phone has two fully-fledged speakers, each with 5 W output and 2.0 mm stroke, controlled by the Awinic SKTune algorithm – an audio system that has never before been found in this combination with a rugged phone. With a peak level of up to 130 dB, the device is on a level that goes far beyond standard smartphone speakers. If you want to listen to music at festivals, construction sites or in the forest without having to carry a Bluetooth speaker with you, this is a real alternative.
Then there’s the integrated camping lamp on the back: 400 lumens at 2.8 W, infinitely adjustable. Not a gadget gimmick, but a well-placed tool for outdoor scenarios in which the flashlight and smartphone both need to be to hand anyway.
Battery for several days, camera for every situation
12,000 mAh is a statement. In practice, according to the manufacturer, this means 79 hours of talk time, 14 hours of video playback and just under 2,000 hours on standby. With 33 W fast charging, the battery is fully charged in around 173 minutes – and with the 5 W recharging function, another device can also be charged if required.
On the camera side, LAGENIO relies on a 64 MP main camera (OV64B sensor) with HDR, panorama, portrait and AI modes as well as a dedicated underwater mode. The front camera has a resolution of 8 MP (Sony IMX219). Videos are recorded in 1080p at 30 fps. This is a decent set of features for a rugged phone in the mid-range price segment – but if you compare it to a dedicated action camera, you should set your expectations accordingly.
Protection, software and connectivity
The Rhino 1 Pro is IP68 and IP69K certified and meets the MIL-STD-810H standard: drop-proof from 1.5 m onto concrete, waterproof up to 1.5 m for 30 minutes, usable from -20 °C to +55 °C. The 6.9-inch display operates at 120 Hz, achieves 600 nit brightness and is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Android 16 is used as the operating system – including Gemini AI, Google Live Translate for real-time translations directly via headphones, NFC and customizable shortcuts. eSIM support allows flexible switching of the mobile provider without a physical SIM card. Widevine L1 is certified for HD streaming on Netflix and other platforms. Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 + 5 GHz), FM radio, compass, gyroscope and OTG round off the features.
