Large mini-ITX case from Jonsbo – the V9 is coming

The new V9 case from Jonsbo wants to give the competition a run for its money. The next larger form factor, Micro-ATX, also has room in the Mini-ITX case. The V9 does not have to hide in terms of price either.

Big case of the small form factor

With its size, the V9 from Jonsbo rather belongs to the large cases of its form factor. It holds a total of 17.6 liters and can accommodate Micro-ATX mainboards. Of course, two 120 mm fans can be installed underneath the motherboard. There is also room for two more 120 mm fans under the lid, with the PSU sitting in front of it and blowing the warm air upwards. An SFX or SFX-L model can be used for the power supply. There is no space for cable management behind the motherboard on the V9, so the case offers a relatively large amount of space for CPU coolers – 13.3 centimeters – despite its compact dimensions. Thus, tower coolers with 92 mm fans or even powerful top-blow models can be used in the V9. The dimensions of the V9 are 33.7 × 16.5 × 31.7 cm (L × W × H), while it has a weight of 2.7 kg.

Small sacrifices for the larger form factor

If you want to take advantage of the opportunity that the Jonsbo V9 offers and install the larger form factor, there are a few sacrifices to make. If you use a Micro-ATX mainboard, only the power supply can be placed behind the front. The data storage has to give way to another place. Thus, one fan spot on the bottom has to be reserved for the memory. A 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch hard disk can then be mounted here. If you’re a bit more creative, an SSD can also be attached to a free space with tape if necessary. You also have to cut back on the graphics card. The GPU must not be longer than 29 centimeters and not higher than 12 centimeters in the V9. The height of the graphics card is thus limited to approximately the height of the slot bezel. Especially with more powerful chips, this is very relevant.

Availability and price

The new Jonsbo V9 is available now in silver and black at a price of about 64 euros plus shipping. Other cases in the class go for around 100 euros in price.
