The Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 series is set to be officially unveiled in July. Now, the first images have surfaced via GizChina Greece, showing a completely revamped design—including a top-of-the-line model with a massive 10,100-mAh battery.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro Max: A New, More Modern Design
While the Redmi Note 15 still features a display that’s rounded toward the sides and a heavily rounded, square camera module, the Redmi Note 17 series appears to be switching to a flat display and a smaller, rectangular camera module. Visible antenna bands also suggest that at least the top-of-the-line model will feature a metal frame. Another striking feature is the bold color scheme on the back, which is intended to help the Note 17 series stand out visually from the competition.
Redmi Note 16 appears to be skipped
Notably, Xiaomi is skipping the Redmi Note 16 generation entirely and jumping directly from the Note 15 series to the Note 17 series. According to current rumors, the upgrades will be substantial. The standard Redmi Note 17 is expected to feature a 6.83-inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, a 50-megapixel main camera, and a 9,000-mAh battery with 67-watt fast charging.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro takes it a step further with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and 100-watt charging. The flagship of the lineup is the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max: It is expected to feature a 200-megapixel main camera, an even larger 10,100-mAh battery, and the new MediaTek Dimensity 7500 as a faster processor. Compared to the Redmi Note 15 series, the new models primarily offer more up-to-date processors and significantly larger batteries.
Context
If the rumors are confirmed, Xiaomi would set new standards in the mid-range segment with the Redmi Note 17 series, particularly in terms of battery capacity. Even the Redmi Note 15 Pro scored well in testing with a generous battery that lasted over 30 hours in a continuous Wi-Fi test—a figure that the Pro Max, with over 10,000 mAh, is likely to surpass by a wide margin.
