Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 comes with Intel Alder Lake and AMD Ryzen 6000

Lenovo presented an update of its Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 and IdeaPad Gaming 3i notebooks at MWC 2022. From now on, they will be equipped with an Intel Alder Lake or AMD Ryzen 6000 CPU and will be offered with the new Intel Arc GPU in addition to an Nvidia GeForce GPU.

Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 with exciting update

The basic design of the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 and 3i notebook changes very little compared to its predecessor. However, there are a few exciting innovations under the hood. Among other things, the cooling system has been revised to be more efficient and quieter, according to the manufacturer. The ventilation is said to have been improved by 20 percent, which is made possible by enlarged vents, among other things.

In addition to the 15-inch model with a 16:9 display, Lenovo now also offers the gaming notebook as a 16-inch model with a 16:10 display, whereby the surcharge of 100 Euros is quite low and the dimensions are hardly bigger. The top model relies on a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels with a frame rate of 165 Hz and a maximum brightness of 500 nits.

Intel or AMD

The manufacturer has not yet released detailed spec sheets of the new Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 (AMD) and IdeaPad Gaming 3i (Intel) models. Thus, it is unclear exactly which CPUs will be installed. Only the updates to AMD’s Ryzen 6000H and Intel’s Alder Lake series have been confirmed so far.

There are also two graphics chip variants to choose from. Besides the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 laptop GPU, Intel’s new Arc Alchemist GPU can also be selected. In addition, there is a keyboard with RGB lighting in four zones, as well as a Full HD webcam with privacy shutter. Buyers will also receive a three-month trial subscription to Xbox Game Pass for free with the purchase.

Prices and Availability

The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 with a 15-inch display and Intel Alder Lake CPU will launch as early as May 2022 and will hit an MSRP of 999 euros. The AMD models as well as the 16-inch variants will follow in June 2022 starting at 1,099 Euros. Lenovo will publish more details about the specific features in the coming weeks.
