Lenovo introduces updated ThinkPad series

At an event, laptop expert Lenovo presented no less than nine new devices from its popular notebook series. The manufacturer is trying to meet many different requirements. In addition to high-priced business laptops with a lot of performance, Lenovo has also introduced low-priced models of the L-series. The majority of the new mobile PCs will be available in stores from May onwards.

Modern standby

Lenovo will introduce Modern Standby with its new ThinkPad series. The system goes into a sleep mode from which it can be shaken up again at any time. The big advantage is that it can’t be compared to a classic standby of other devices. With Modern Standby it is rather in a mode like a smartphone in standby. The great thing about this feature is the low power consumption. Without wasting a lot of battery power, the user gets the opportunity to get back to work as quickly as possible.

Fast internet and great displays

With standard WiFi 6 and optional CAT 16 WWAN, incredibly fast Internet connections can be achieved. This not only ensures short download times. The new ThinkPads also offer sufficient security while surfing. This is guaranteed by the protection in the form of the WPA3 security protocol. Lenovo’s new notebooks also feature redesigned function keys. In addition to the existing keys, Lenovo is also adding buttons for making phone calls to its new ThinkPads. The new ThinkPads’ displays also look great at first glance. The new devices offer praiseworthy options like UHD, OLED and Dolby Vision. The ears are flattered by high-quality Dolby Audio speaker systems.

The T series

With the T14, T14s and T15, Lenovo has introduced upgrades to its most important notebooks. These are especially popular among business users. Here, the buyer has the choice between the 14 inch and 15 inch sizes. The notebooks get their computing power from Intel’s 10th generation processors. Those who don’t want to have an Intel processor can also choose one from AMD’s competitors within the configuration. All three notebooks of the T series offer the new features like Modern Standby and the modern displays.

The T-series is aimed at business users.

The X-series

The X Series are compact notebooks that offer the same power as the T Series. In addition, the X Series offers innovative features. These include the PrivacyGuard-ePrivacy display. This protects the user from prying eyes. The X13 Yoga comes with a Dolby Audio speaker system. The user benefits from a great sound experience. Optionally, the user can also create great moments visually. For example, the buyer can opt for a UHD OLED display that supports the new HDR standard Dolby Vision. Both notebooks in the X series are equipped with an Intel processor as standard. For the X13, however, you can alternatively opt for an AMD processor.

The L Series

With the L Series, Lenovo has introduced the most affordable models of its ThinkPads. The manufacturer has apparently revised these the most – at least optically. Thus, the notebooks have now been designed much thinner and don’t weigh as much anymore. However, a lot is said to have changed on the inside as well. Thus, according to Lenovo, a more efficient work is now probably possible. WiFi 6 is built in as standard and can be made even faster with the optional CAT 9 WWAN. This not only ensures a fast internet connection. It also makes collaboration via the internet easier. In addition, a great display ensures that you can also watch one or two films with the L13, L14 and L15. While the L13 requires an Intel processor, the L14 and L15 offer the alternative from AMD.

Prices and availability

Lenovo has not yet made final comments on the prices. Accordingly, one can only make speculations here. However, we already have certainty about the market launch of the new ThinkPad models. The new ThinkPads will probably cost from 669 euro (ThinkPad L13) up to 1199 euro (base price for X13 Yoga). With the exception of ThinkPads L13 and L14, all other ThinkPads will be launched in May. However, those who prefer a ThinkPad with an AMD processor will have to be patient until June.
