The CES 2023 brought us numerous new gaming notebooks with the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4000 graphics chips. On the other hand, those who prefer stationary gaming and do not want to accept any performance losses will be well served with the Lenovo Legion Tower 7i. No gaming wishes are guaranteed to remain unfulfilled here.
Lenovo Legion Tower 7i: Brutal gaming PC unveiled
CES 2023 brought us high-end gaming notebooks en masse. There’s the Acer Predator Helios 16 and 18, various news from MSI or a particularly slim laptop in the form of the Alienware x14.
They also offer the latest technology, but cannot keep up with a gaming (tower) PC even in the most powerful configuration. That’s probably what Lenovo thought, too, and presented an absolute beast under its Legion division, which is called Lenovo Legion Tower 7i.
What does it have to offer? An Intel Core i9-13900K CPU, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card, up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM with a clock rate of 5600 MHz and up to 6 terabytes of storage space as a combination of M.2 SSDs and SATA HDDs.
Power and cooling ensured
To ensure that these hungry components are supplied with enough power, the Lenovo Legion Tower 7i relies on a 1,200-watt power supply. Of course, the cooling has to be right as well, and the manufacturer has obviously paid attention to that as well.
A large VRM heatsink, six powerful fans including ARGB lighting, a front panel with mesh grille for better ventilation and an optional (but definitely urgently needed) liquid cooling are combined. The optional AiO CPU cooling is supposed to be able to dissipate a TDP of 260 watts alone.
Of course, a whole lot of ultra-modern ports shouldn’t be missing. In addition to 2.5 Gbit LAN, there are plenty of different USB-A and USB-C ports, but the manufacturer does not really provide many details in this area. A side panel made of tempered glass provides a view into the ARGB elements.
Price and availability
The Lenovo Legion Tower 7i is expected to launch soon. Some sources mention an availability in January 2023, while others speak of April 2023. The price starts at 2,999 Euros, whereas the variant with RTX 4090 – whose RRP is already beyond the 2,000 Euro mark – should still have a lot of room for improvement.
