With the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro X, you can expect a powerful and compact ultrabook in summer 2022, which is extremely configurable and wants to score with a fast display and long battery runtimes.
Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro X: AMD or Intel?
You are spoiled for choice with the new Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro X. In terms of CPU, the manufacturer offers the compact 14-inch ultrabook with an Intel Alder Lake CPU up to the Intel Core i7-12700H or an AMD Ryzen processor up to the Ryzen 9 6900HS.
While the Intel model should be a bit faster and offers an advantage in terms of connectivity with Thunderbolt 4, the AMD counterpart comes up with a longer battery life. Lenovo talks about 15.5 hours of video playback with AMD and still 12.5 hours with an Intel processor. The battery capacity is 70 watt hours in both models.
Otherwise, a choice of 16 GB or 32 GB LPDDR5 working memory and a dedicated GPU up to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 laptop GPU are offered. The internal NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD storage gets up to 1 terabyte for both Intel and AMD.
Compact device with a fast display
As an ultrabook, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro X naturally turns out compact and light. According to the manufacturer, the notebook weighs around 1.45 kg and is only 15.9 mm thick. There are no differences in the display.
Lenovo relies on a 14.5 inch 16:10 display with a resolution of 3272 x 1920 pixels and a maximum brightness of 400 nits. The panel is also available as a touchscreen for an additional charge. The refresh rate is a fast 120 hertz.
Prospective buyers of the AMD version will have to accept some compromises in terms of port speed, since the fast Thunderbolt 4 standard of the two built-in USB-C ports (with 40 Gbit/s) is exclusive to Intel. AMD, on the other hand, realizes a maximum of 10 Gbit/s.
In addition, there is a USB-A port and a combined 3.5 mm jack audio port. HDMI, on the other hand, is incomprehensibly only available on the Intel side, while the AMD Pro X gets a second USB-A port for it.
Prices and availability
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro X (AMD) or 7i Pro X (Intel) is supposed to find its way into stores from July 2022. The manufacturer’s MSRP is 1,199.00 Euros.
