As the world’s first SD cards made of stainless steel, they set new standards in terms of durability and performance. Stainless steel for maximum durability
Traditional plastic memory cards tend to wear out quickly and can be easily damaged. The new ARMOR SD cards from Lexar, on the other hand, are made of robust stainless steel and are therefore 37 times more resistant. They offer effective protection against bending, breaking and everyday wear and tear. Thanks to IP68 certification, they are dust and waterproof and can withstand drops of up to 5 meters, making them ideal for use in extreme conditions. The simplified design does away with notches and the write protection switch, which further increases durability.
Impressive speeds for professional requirements
In addition to their robustness, the ARMOR GOLD and SILVER PRO SD cards impress with their high transfer speeds. The ARMOR GOLD achieves write speeds of up to 210 MB/s, while the ARMOR SILVER PRO offers up to 160 MB/s. Both cards support Video Speed Class 60 (V60), which enables uninterrupted recording in up to 6K resolution. In combination with a USB 3.2 card reader, read speeds of up to 280 MB/s can be achieved, which significantly speeds up the post-production workflow.
Availability and additional functions
The ARMOR SILVER PRO SD card is now available on Amazon. The ARMOR GOLD SD card is expected to be available at select retailers by the end of March 2025. Both cards offer permanent access to the Lexar Recovery Tool, which can be used to recover accidentally deleted files and formatted cards or drives. Lexar also offers a limited warranty on the new ARMOR SD cards.
