LG SC9 and SE6: new soundbars work with TVs

With the new LG SC9 and SE6 soundbars, the manufacturer has unveiled, just before the start of CES 2023, two new devices that should work seamlessly with the manufacturer’s 2023 TV lineup.

LG SC9 and LG SE6: New soundbars revealed

About a week before CES 2023 kicks off, LG has unveiled two new soundbars that aim to be particularly in tune with the manufacturer’s new 2023 TV lineup. The LG SC9 and LG SE6 come in a fresh and chic design and offer some exciting features.

In particular, the manufacturer emphasizes the seamless cooperation with the new TV sets, which is not only supposed to provide a higher comfort, but also a stronger, more authentic sound.

One new feature goes by the name of “WOW Orchestra,” which allows the audio channels of the soundbar and LG TV to be connected to expand the soundstage. This is supposed to benefit the sound with improved highs, more lows and more pressure. In combination, Dolby Atmos and IMAX-enhanced sound is realized thanks to DTS:X.

The soundbars’ settings can also be easily accessed via the intuitive Home Dashboard on LG TVs, while WOWCAST allows the 2023 soundbars to connect wirelessly to a TV without any negative impact on sound quality.

The LG SC9 and SE6 also rely on a minimalist look that should fit into any environment – the manufacturer promises. Via a novel bracket on the back of the TVs, the soundbars can be placed directly under the TV set and mounted either on the wall or standing.

LG Triple Sound Technology

Thanks to LG Triple Sound Technology, the new LG SC9 and SE6 soundbars are said to offer accurate and clear sound. This is made possible by the world’s first triple upward-facing speakers.

Thanks to the HRTF-based 3D engine, a virtual midrange speaker is used to create “Triple Level Spatial Sound”, which the manufacturer promises will deliver lifelike, immersive surround sound. Thanks to Triple Sound Optimizer, the sound of the new soundbars can also be intelligently expanded, so that a stereo sound is converted into a multi-channel surround sound via Smart Up-mixer.

LG’s advanced AI Room Calibration is also supposed to analyze the spatial conditions and thus be able to perfectly adapt the sound, especially the low frequencies, to the room. At the same time, the general balance and the clarity of voices are supposed to be improved.

AI Sound Pro, on the other hand, is supposed to automatically adapt the sound to the respective content, such as movies, sports, games or music. In addition, the manufacturer promises extensive connectivity and broad compatibility with many services and devices for the LG SC9 and LE6 soundbars. Lossless audio including hi-fi sound via Tidal Connect is mentioned as an example.

The LG SE6 relies on a compact form factor along with four passive radiators for clear sound and rich bass. It also supports Dolby Atmos. It will be on display, alongside the LG SC9, at the manufacturer’s booth at CES 2023 from January 05 to January 08.
