LG UltraGear 32GQ85X, 32GQ950 and 48GQ900 – Three new gaming monitors

LG expands its UltraGear range of gaming monitors with three new models. The LG UltraGear 32GQ85X comes with a frame rate of 260 Hz, the 32GQ950 comes with 4K including ATW Polarizer technology, and the LG UltraGear 48GQ900 marks the manufacturer’s first OLED gaming monitor.

The LG UltraGear 32GQ85X in detail

First up is the LG UltraGear 32GQ85X, which features a 31.5-inch Nano IPS panel with ATW Polarizer. The technology improves panel performance, ensuring vivid, accurate colors and deep, rich blacks across a wide viewing angle.

It also features the highest refresh rate of the new models and comes from the factory with 240 Hz, which can be overclocked up to 260 Hz. It also offers a response time of 1 ms with a QHD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels.

The monitor is certified according to the VESA DisplayHDR 600 standard as well as the latest VESA AdaptiveSync Display standard. In addition, the covers the DCI-P3 color space to 98 percent, is NVIDIA G-SYNC compatible and supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.

In terms of ports, two HDMI, one DisplayPort, one USB 3.0 (upstream) and two USB 3.0 downstream are offered, as well as a DTS Headphone:X-capable jack. The stand is also height adjustable, tiltable and offers a pivot function.

LG UltraGear 32GQ950

Just below that, the LG UltraGear 32GQ950 positions itself. At least in terms of maximum frame rate. It also relies on 31.5 inches, but comes with a 4K UHD resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. In return, it “only” offers 144 Hz or a maximum of 160 Hz when overclocked. The gray-to-grey response time is also 1 ms here.

It also covers 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color space and even has VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification for a peak brightness of 1,000 cd/m². PC and console connect via two HDMI 2.1 ports.

LG UltraGear 48GQ900: Manufacturer’s first OLED gaming monitor

The 48GQ900 model is the first OLED gaming monitor to be launched under the UltraGear brand this year. Winner of the Red Dot and iF Design Awards, the self-luminous 48-inch 4K display offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz, which even reaches 138 Hz when overclocked.

LG claims an incredible response time of 0.1 ms. Furthermore, an impeccable color fidelity (DCI-P3 coverage of 98.5%) and an almost borderless design are promised. The gaming monitor supports HDR10 and features LG’s Anti-Glare Low Reflection (AGLR) coating, which reduces visual distractions.

In addition, the 48GQ900 features a remote control specifically designed to enhance gaming comfort, as well as a sleek stand that provides optimal stability. It also features, like all new models, a headphone jack for gaming headsets including surround sound in DTS Headphone:X format.

The 48GQ900 is also the only model in the new lineup to offer two integrated speakers, each with 20 watts of power.

Pricing and Availability

The latest UltraGear gaming monitors are expected to be available in Germany from September 2022. The manufacturer did not provide details on pricing so far. For more details, check out the product page of the UltraGear series.
