Following the presentation at the LG Convention in spring, the first models of the new UltraGear evo premium series and the 27GX790B high-speed monitor are now available. LG UltraGear gaming monitors rely on new display technologies
With the new UltraGear generation, LG is pursuing a clear focus on image quality, speed and immersion. The new UltraGear evo series in particular is designed to combine the latest panel technologies with intelligent image enhancements.
At the top of the portfolio is the LG UltraGear 52G930B. The model is positioned as the world’s largest 5K2K gaming monitor and offers a particularly wide display area in combination with a strong 1000R curvature. This is intended to create a particularly immersive gaming experience, which is particularly advantageous for simulations, open-world games and productive multitasking applications.
The 39GX950B is also part of the new premium range. The 39-inch model is based on the latest primary RGB tandem OLED technology and combines this with a curved 5K2K display in 21:9 format. There is also a dual-mode function that enables different resolution and refresh rates for different usage scenarios.
The UltraGear evo family is completed by the 27GM950B. The 27-inch monitor uses a modern MiniLED backlight with high precision in contrast and brightness control. This should significantly reduce annoying halo or blooming effects. All three UltraGear evo models also feature integrated 5K AI upscaling, which intelligently optimizes content and is intended to further improve the image display.
UltraGear gaming monitors offer top speed for e-sports
In addition to image quality, speed continues to play a key role in gaming monitors. This is exactly where LG comes in with the UltraGear 27GX790B. The monitor is primarily aimed at ambitious e-sports players and users who require maximum response speed.
In dual mode, the model achieves refresh rates of up to 720 Hz, making it one of the fastest gaming monitors on the market. High frame rates can ensure a smoother gaming experience, especially for fast-paced shooters, racing games and competitive multiplayer titles.
LG is also already planning the next expansion stage of its gaming portfolio. The UltraGear 25G590B has been announced for late summer. The model is set to be the first full HD gaming monitor with a native refresh rate of 1,000 Hz. Pre-orders are currently scheduled to start on July 30, 2026.
