Lian Li Lancool III: Case launches with fair price and better cooling

The Lancool series from Lian Li is growing. The second generation (our review) was already a few years ago. The new Lian Li Lancool III once again wants to score with a perfect price-performance ratio. The front panel offers 51 percent permeability, while a whole four 140 mm PWM fans are already pre-installed.

The Lian Li Lancool III goes for a whole new look. Two brushed aluminum strips on the front provide a futuristic look. Each strip doubles as a door handle for the tempered glass panels on the right and left. With a modern I/O panel at the top of the front bezel (power button, reset button, 2 x USB 3.0, USB Type C, audio), the case offers convenient access to the most important ports.

You can also access RGB control buttons there to control the lighting of the three 140mm ARGB fans on the front of the mid-tower. The front bezel holds magnetically to the case and offers a 51 percent transmission rate. Fine mesh panels on the top and both sides of the PSU panel, along with four pre-installed 140mm PWM fans, provide excellent airflow.

Moreover, you can perfectly customize the Lancool III for optimal cooling. So you can install a 360 mm heatsink in the multipoint bracket above the PSU panel (max. 80 mm thick) as well as at the front, and a max. 420 mm heatsink in offset position with enough space for 60 mm high memory sticks at the top (max. 75 mm thick).

Thanks to maximum support for E-ATX motherboards, 420 mm long graphics boxes and ATX power supplies, the case can also accommodate quite a few memory configurations. If desired, up to 12 2.5-inch SSDs or four 3.5-inch hard drives and eight 2.5-inch SSDs can be installed.

Cable management and vertical GPU

The Lian Li Lancool III, like the MagniumGear Neo Qube 2 most recently for example, relies on a dual-chamber system thanks to which the cable management disappears almost invisibly in the second chamber.

Behind the two removable cover panels, which are attached to hinges and can be closed via a magnet, 8 x Velcro straps are built into the case. Three large Velcro strips with multiple guide channels organize and separate the cables for the front panel, 24-pin motherboard and GPU power supply, as well as the fan hubs.

There are also five smaller Velcro strips in the motherboard area for routing CPU EPS cables and storage device cables. There is also enough space for mounting up to four fan hubs.

Furthermore, if you use the O11D-EVO GPU set for vertical mounting, the GPU can also be used vertically. Here you can choose between a black or white installation kit, which is equipped with a PCIe 3.0 or 4.0 riser cable and matches the case color.

You can set the height for the installation in different positions. In the lower position, there is a 6mm gap between the mounting kit and the top of the PSU panel, and in the higher position, you have 46mm of space for fans and a heatsink above the PSU panel.

The Lian Li Lancool III can be ordered from Caseking’s onlineshop since 07/15/2022. It starts at an MSRP of 149.90 euros for the normal case in black or white. The RGB models with the same colors are only slightly higher at 159.90 Euros.
