With the new Logitech G512 X Gaming Keyboard, Logitech G is expanding its portfolio with a keyboard that is clearly aimed at demanding gamers and keyboard enthusiasts. Instead of classic on-off inputs, the model relies on analog TMR sensor technology, modular switches and extensive customization options. The aim: a gaming keyboard that does not adapt to the user, but actively adapts to the individual gaming style. With two layout variants, 8K performance and hybrid switch support, the G512 X is positioning itself as one of the most exciting keyboard releases of 2026.
- Analog TMR sensor technology enables precise input depending on key depth
- Dual swap capability supports analog and mechanical switches simultaneously
- True 8K performance with 8K polling, reporting and processing
- Available in 75- and 98-key layouts from 179.99 US dollars
Logitech G512 X Gaming Keyboard relies on analog TMR technology
The central highlight of the Logitech G512 X Gaming Keyboard is the new TMR technology (Tunnel Magneto Resistance), which goes far beyond classic mechanical keyboards. This is also used in the Cherry XTRFY K5 Pro TMR (our test), for example. While conventional models usually only differentiate between pressed and unpressed keys, the G512 X recognizes the exact depth of a keystroke. This allows various actions to be triggered depending on the pressure point.
Especially in genres such as racing games, flight simulations or tactical shooters, this opens up significantly more control. For example, a gentle press of the button can trigger slow acceleration, while a full press of the button activates full throttle. This type of analog control is more familiar from controllers and now brings significantly more precision to the desktop.
In addition, the so-called multipoint action function allows two different actions on a single button. Logitech G HUB allows users to define which action is triggered at which pressure point. This is supported by SAPP rings (Second Actuation Pressure Point), which create a haptic resistance point for the second actuation. This noticeably improves both control and muscle memory in the game.
Logitech G512 X Gaming Keyboard is aimed specifically at modding fans
With the G512 X, Logitech G is also deliberately targeting the growing community of custom keyboards and PC modding. The keyboard supports a so-called dual swap capability, which allows both analog and mechanical switches to be flexibly combined. A total of 39 hybrid TMR switch beds are available, which are compatible with many common analog as well as 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches.
Logitech supplies nine Gateron KS-20 analogue switches ex works, which are directly optimized for competitive gaming. This allows an initial individualization of the typing and gaming experience without additional purchases. The system is complemented by two fully assignable rotary controls that can be used as individual hardware controls for volume, macros or in-game functions.
The model also has a premium look. An eye-catching RGB lightbar with PVD coating and rhythmic slash patterns provides a striking design, while an optional acrylic palm rest offers additional comfort during long sessions. Another practical feature is the integrated storage compartment on the back for keycap pullers, switches and SAPP rings.
